Very scared Need some support

My left nipple is red sore and erect been like this for 2 days. Also got a small lump under right boob not painful been there for a month. Nurse took blood tests last week. Doctor Urgently said to call back, this was Monday. Of course no one answered. I emailed etc. No reply. Now waiting for call on Monday and I'm so scared. I did have an appointment with breat clinic but due to postal strikes only received my letter after my appointment then got another letter saying they had cancelled it due to a no show. 😭.

Sounds very worrying OP. I had similar, either way they won’t be able to do much over a weekend I would have thought.

Quick update found an out of hours walk in centre thanks for letting me know about it. Just waiting now got 2 plasters over my nipple as it's so sore to be touched!!!

Ooh will not be able to refer you to breast clinic, only your own GP can do that. They will be able to treat the problem though, sounds like an abscess or cyst.

I've had x 2 suspected cancer referrals in past 5 years, you'll be seen quickly. Try not to worry and maybe go to the GP Monday rather than wait for a call. I would have done that Friday.

I finally got through Friday! My nipple was fine then it's just come on rapidly

You've had appalling treatment. I hope you've been seen. It sounds like mastitis or infected cyst and its bloody sore and can make you unwell quickly. I was given antibiotics and the gp rollocked dh for complaining about taking time off to look after the baby. it cleared within a few days. Tell dp to wind his neck in. It may well be worth complaining to the practice. There should have been an alert on your records that has to be followed up.

I got to admit I'm so tired I can't really think straight. I will ask the doctor about it on Monday. It's not very busy here thank god. Ive Been having on going issues with lumps, infections and cysts but normally in my left breast not my right. Yeah I was going to give dp the side eye about his hobby. But I feel like I'm going to be sick at any moment so I just couldn't be bothered

Quick update. Got seen quickly female doctor as well so that was really good. Always feel happier. She gave me antibiotics and Said to mention it to doctor asap. Interestingly couldn't access my notes, but could see what my prescriptions I have had before. Still scared shirtless. But it was nice doing something pro active. Might try some mediation or mindfulness later. 🙏🧼🤒

Just got a referral to breast clinic. That's all. The doctor was in a rush to end the telephone call!

Hi all still waiting for that breast clinic appointment letter. Still feeling crap. Niple.has gone down a bit but still looks dodgy. I'm having regular panic attacks. Sorry not to bring better news x

That's shit. Can you afford to go private for the initial consult? It's about £200 at my bupa for initial breast clinic

No sadly 😔. Not in a position to do that. If I don't get a letter tomorrow I might ring the breast clinic and see if they have it. Got so many sodding issues going on at once. I need a referral to gynecologist and that could take a year minimum! I'm at my wit's end. With it all I hate being a sodding woman!

This is anecdotal,but my dh,regularly gets nipple infections ,with very similar symptoms ,he also.gets regular urine infections ,he has type 2 diabetes and it's all thought to.be related .

I had a lump on my nipple that turned out to be an infected boil so sounds like you could have similar. Was given antibiotics but the doctor warned me it could take a while to clear up and he was right, it took about a month for it to disappear.
Hope you manage to get seen.

Ah no I'm so sorry you haven't had your letter yet, I think it's a great idea ringing the breast clinic to see if they have you're referral, my DF opened a letter last week at 10:30am inviting him to an appointment that afternoon at 1pm so it seems a lot of postal issues are still happening! Keep us updated Flowers
