Does anyone else have no wish to be very "thin"?

My BMI is 21.5 probably a bit porky by MN standards. I've been ill but I feel a bit frail and too thin, my hip bones are jutting , I'm going back to the gym to do weight training I like having big thighs , big bum , feeling strong I'd be happier with a BMI of around 22.5 even 23. Does anyone else feel like me or does everyone want to have a very low BMI? Is being very thin a sign of status? I think once women start to get older it looks very aging.

It really is a choice between your face and your arse when you get older.

I am 70, maybe a stone overweight, easily hidden. My face looks much younger than my body. People guess my age at early 50's. Some friends my age who are thin look ancient, over 80. It really is a choice between your face and your arse when you get older. I like eating - and I like my face.

Is that your ancient looking thin friends think you look nearly 20 years younger than your age?! I think people are being polite and doubt you look early 50's.

I definitely remember someone once saying they felt porky at 19.5.

That’s not the same as saying MNers standard is that 21.5 is porky.

In reality, I one looks 15-20 years younger than they are. Also, excess weight on the face makes one look matronly and jaw and neck definition disappear which is terribly aging.
