Just wondering. I’m jealous of people in good health with high energy levels. I want to be that kind of person so badly 😫

Tall people.

containsnuts · 12/01/2023 19:38

People who are not allergic to furry animals and can cuddle them without coming out in hives and their eyes swelling shut.

heisacreep · 12/01/2023 19:39

People who are naturally slim and willowy

People with big, close families

People with two daughters (I have one and wish I'd had another when my daughter was little)

People with confidence

Blanketenvy · 12/01/2023 19:39

People in good health
People with kids
People who own their own house

Merlott · 12/01/2023 19:39

Women who had 2 loving parents and a "naice" upbringing, uni all paid for, straight into a proper profesional career, maybe horses or other rah hobbies, earn a ton, bought a flat in London aged 26, 000's in savings, luxury holidays etc. Don't know poverty, being rejected for the way they speak or dress, safe in their bubble.

Women who are just naturally good looking. Big eyes, big lips, symmetrical face, pleasant tinkly voice. Naturally feminine and comfortable with themselves.

Women with small boobs...!

Women who have the nerve to emigrate or run their own business and somehow make it seem amazing and wonderful and effortless.

Just women who make it look effortless in general 🤣

SarahAshley2 · 12/01/2023 19:40

-People with doting parents who enjoy spending time with their grandchildren
-People who don’t care what they look like, happy without makeup on etc.
-People who don’t need an alcoholic drink to be chatty and outgoing
-People who don’t find parenting stressful and to whom it comes naturally
-People who enjoy exercise
-People who have a lot of energy and don’t need massive amounts of sleep!

blacktreacles · 12/01/2023 19:41

I’m curious, why didn’t you become an air hostess?

pizzaHeart · 12/01/2023 19:43

People with good health
people whose children have good health.

I can deal with the lack of the rest.

JamSandle · 12/01/2023 19:43

Another vote for confident drivers!

People with dual citizenship

People who just seem to know what they want and are happy with what they have

ssd · 12/01/2023 19:44

People who don't constantly worry.

Pipersouth · 12/01/2023 19:44

People that wake up just before their alarm naturally and are happy straight away without grumbling into the new day! Doesn’t matter how many hours sleep I get but grateful that I do sleep well. I’m envious of lots of little things but the grass is always greener and I like the patch I’m on most of the time !

Cuppasoupmonster · 12/01/2023 19:45

Lots of interesting responses. I’m sure most of us have realised we have something that makes others jealous too.

In my experience it’s all a bit surface level and such kids are palmed off to boarding school. The friendships are fair weather, they know it’s all about the money, and usually the only one who loves them for who they are is the horse!

A nice house or flat. My house is badly in need of updating and decorating and I have neither the means nor the energy. It's in a bit of a shitty area too.

JerkintheMerkin · 12/01/2023 19:46

ByeByeLouisByeByeKlaus · 12/01/2023 18:39

People with really involved parents. You know, the ones who can’t get enough of their grandchildren etc.

Me and you both. I look at my work colleagues who have that support/interest and can only wonder. I'm sure they look at me with pity as I have none of that even though my DD GP are alive. I have to rely on my ex's parents to fill the breach but they live miles away so it's very sporadic.

QueSyrahSyrah · 12/01/2023 19:49

People who's parents / family set them up better for adult life than mine did, in terms of practical things like the importance of savings, pensions etc, and less practical like knowing my worth in relationships and friendships.

Colourmix · 12/01/2023 19:49

Another vote for people with families. Imagine having people to visit on Christmas Day, or people to go on holiday with or visit regularly!

AnneLovesGilbert · 12/01/2023 18:38

Not jealous as such but I’d love to have nice in laws.

People who like driving.

What don't you like about driving? I listen to audio books and it makes it nicer? Would that help?

Cuppasoupmonster · 12/01/2023 19:50

baxtersm · 12/01/2023 19:15

Anybody with a Dad. Lost mine two years ago at only 65 and I get irrationally jealous when my friends or colleagues talk about their dads. Or when I see a man around my dads age with his grandkids I get so jealous as my kids just loved their granddad.

Just to flip this, my dad is still alive but is an alcoholic who lives abroad and has zero interest in his kids or grandkids. I feel jealous of anyone who has experienced that great relationship past or present; which I know is awful.

I'm not a really jealous person but get annoyed with people who earn more than I do but don't work as hard.
I envy those with long, slim legs.
Who are good in the mornings.
Who can put outfits together.
Who can play the piano.

Summerlark · 12/01/2023 19:51

Some of these things are really fixable for people like whiter teeth or moving to a new area.

I do feel a bit sad that I don't have a daughter when I see mothers with their daughters although I adore my sons. I miss my parents a lot although to be fair they were older parents and I was lucky to have them as long as I did. I would have loved to have siblings too though my husband says I have an exaggerated view of the joys of having siblings.

The thing is though you never really know what is going on in private for people. For all you know the naturally blonde and gorgeous surgeon with manageable hair and white teeth with loads of close friends may be coping with all sort of things like a child's health issue or the BRCA gene or an unfaithful partner. I generally don't feel envious of people because of that.

jem899 · 12/01/2023 19:51

People who sleep well, anywhere.

People who are naturally patient and loving with their kids.

People who don't have to wear makeup to cover up bad skin and don't have to wash their hair daily (I'm greasy and spotty)

Startwithamimosa · 12/01/2023 19:55

Naturally slim
High energy/always positive
Close group of friends/family that regularly hang out & go on holiday like on TV
Wealthy enough not to care about money
Blissful love (like movie love)

... I don't want for much or have high expectations 🤣

IfOnlyTheyMeantIt · 12/01/2023 19:57

People who look good for their age. I look haggard. Not wrinkly but very saggy. I hate getting old.

LotteryWinPlease · 12/01/2023 20:00

People who have successful love lives and have never known heartbreak

People who love their jobs

JustGotToKeepOnKeepingOn · 12/01/2023 20:02

People who tan - my skin is palest pale and covered in freckles. I've never had a tan. Would love to have one! Summer would be a whole new experience.

People who have a great relationship with their mum.

People who can eat what they want and never gain a pound.

People who have someone to say Happy New Year to them first.
