Just wondering. I’m jealous of people in good health with high energy levels. I want to be that kind of person so badly 😫

OP posts:
stillvicarinatutu · 12/01/2023 18:54

People who own a house
People who are financially secure
People with parents
People who are married or in happy relationships, who just found their "one"
People who don't have health issues

I have none of the above and at 50 that worries me

I am thankful for my kids
My friends
My dogs
What I do have .

SpangoDweller · 12/01/2023 18:56

People with nice in-laws
people younger than me who are much more driven and successful than I was at their age
People who can drive

MadMadMadamMim · 12/01/2023 18:56

People who are beautiful.

It's very shallow, and I know I should be appreciative of the fact that I am intelligent and educated - but I would have loved to be stunning looking. The plain, overlooked teenager that no one fancied in me is never far away.

Poppins2016 · 12/01/2023 18:41

People with houses that are larger, cleaner and tidier than mine (annoyingly, half the battle re 'clean and tidy' would be solved if my house was bigger = more storage)!

Sounds like you need a big declutter!

HaroldTheStallion · 12/01/2023 18:56

Women who have written and published novels or excelled in exceptional careers like surgeon, etc.

People who are at ease in social situations, witty, able to really connect with people, and are accepted immediately (as others have said).

Confident drivers (I'm surprised how common this response is).

Phineyj · 12/01/2023 18:57

People who can leave the house for a few minutes in sunny weather without first applying factor 30.

I am the colour of skimmed milk and soooo fed up of sunburn.

I can sing though 😄

Blueberrypeapod · 12/01/2023 18:58

Women with their mothers. I lost mine as a young child and am deeply jealous of mothers and daughters.

shivermetimbers77 · 12/01/2023 18:59

People who are naturally beautiful without makeup.

people who effortlessly seem to get into long term relationships with good, supportive partners.

People who are in my professional field who have published books about it (Something I have also wanted to do but have always been too nervous/busy/lazy to get around to it).

Iamwhatiam52 · 12/01/2023 18:59

People who have a 'normal' relationship with food, only ever eat when they are naturally hungry and are a healthy weight. I am genuinely envious of them.

People who have close friend/family social circles, with people who just pop into their house (inclusive of venetian blinds, minimalist scandi aesthetic) they go on regular holidays with said people and they're totally at ease and cool with constant socialising.

Also women who have all the gear, yoyo zens, designer snow boots, vejas, military liners etc which they can easily afford and effortlessly look fabulous in. Also women who don't need make up. Like how is that fair?!

Fortunately and touch wood me and my family have our health. If we didn't then people who did would be the only thing I would really be jealous of as good health is all that truly matters...

It reminds me of this saying:

"A healthy person has a thousand wishes but a sick person only has one".

Sasha07 · 12/01/2023 19:01

People who live in amazing locations so can try out things like surfing and other adventurous outdoor pursuits. People who randomly fancy doing a cookery course etc and can find a place near to them at the drop of a hat that does it. People who can sight see cool animals from afar regularly.

I'm kinda jealous of Australians because I've met a few and their lifestyle/banter/confidence is amazing. I'm just a small uk town girl surrounded by boring, bitchy, 'meh' people as there is nothing at all to do locally... Which doesn't seem to bother most.

MissingMoominMamma · 12/01/2023 19:02

People who have bodies that work well.

AllThingsServeTheBeam · 12/01/2023 19:04

The able bodied.

Just seeing people being able to make themselves a cup of tea without a wince. Or standing up... Having a bath... Putting their coat or shoes on... Basically doing anything but sitting.

MyWillyBrokeTheDogBowl · 12/01/2023 19:04

The thing that makes me jealous of other people is… my own insecurity, usually. If I find myself envious of another person it’s usually because it’s touched a nerve in some way.

IntentionalError · 12/01/2023 19:05

I genuinely don’t believe that anyone is ‘naturally thin’. I have been both fat & thin, and the difference was what I ate and how hard I worked my arse off in the gym & on my bike.
I will admit to being jealous of people who can sing, though. That is one thing I have never been able to do.

Blueberry40 · 12/01/2023 19:06

People who are naturally blonde
People who tan very easily and always look healthy
People who are naturally beautiful and attract others to them without having to try
Confident drivers
People who have been privileged enough to be supported financially to pursue their education and have been able to forge an amazing career as a result
Funny people who always know what to say to lighten the mood
People who aren’t exhausted by 8pm
People who can get up at 5-6am and still be functional
People with amazing teeth
People with good legs who can wear skirts and shorts and look good

I could go on….guess I must be a very jealous person 😄

SafeMove · 12/01/2023 19:07

People who had the foresight and wisdom to conduct themselves well in their youth and didn't sleep with a bunch of unsuitable boys

I cringe when I think of the wild teenager cliche I was. Thank god none of it was documented on social media. Wish I'd been more boring and restrained.

SwedishEdith · 12/01/2023 19:07

People who tan easily. Hot weather, just throw on a summer dress or shorts and get on with their day.

People who love the water - sea swimming, jump into rivers and pools. This is connected to the one above.

It's interesting reading other people's because I'm okay or good at some of them. Helps to remind ourselves that we all have something going for us.

EarlyYearsMe · 12/01/2023 19:08

I’ve only ever really wanted two things in my life and I’m jealous of those who have these things;

  1. to be an air hostess
  2. to have an amazing singing voice

😅

Allezallezallez2023 · 12/01/2023 19:08

Confident drivers

People with close siblings

Women with great hair

BabyOnBoard90 · 12/01/2023 19:11

This thread has made me realise that there are many things I'm envious of, and privileges that I take for granted.

cheesetoastie33 · 12/01/2023 19:11

People who can just go about life with no anxiety holding them back. It must be so lovely and freeing not to be in a constant state of panic/fight or flight.

PigeonPerchingOnMyWall · 12/01/2023 19:12

People who have supportive and loving parents/siblings.

people who have good health.

Wbeezer · 12/01/2023 19:13

People with well behaved hair! Mine has always been wayward and frizzy. I'd love a thick glossy mane.
Not going to feel on other, bigger things that I can't change, not worth it!

baxtersm · 12/01/2023 19:15

Anybody with a Dad. Lost mine two years ago at only 65 and I get irrationally jealous when my friends or colleagues talk about their dads. Or when I see a man around my dads age with his grandkids I get so jealous as my kids just loved their granddad.
