Not kill them or do serious harm but if you had the chance to do voodoo and get back at those who wronged toy would you do it and you get to watch them in a crystal ball in pain?

I know it sounds cruel but I would, I've being wronged so many times by bullies and it would delight me to get revenge.

I used to fantasise about the neighbour being somehow pinned to the ground as I swung a large Le Creuset frying pan at his head. He ruined our lives for a year, the other neighbours moved out (after 40 years) because of his extreme anti-social noise/behaviour. We had to sell our first property to get away from him. He punch me in the face. I would definitely do a voodoo doll.

On a serious note, I’ve often thought the family of victims of paedophiles/murderers/rapists should be allowed a small weapon and 30 minutes with the perpetrator, no questions asked. When someone tries to kill himself/herself because of something that has been done to him/her by someone else, I think the voodoo doll is very fitting. Sorry, probably not in the spirit of the thread, think the OP was aiming for lighthearted.

clairelouwho · 05/01/2023 19:05

Yes and it'd be worth whatever "guilt" I'd feel.

willowbow · 05/01/2023 19:13

I don't think I'd like to watch them in pain @pillow56 I'd prefer to pull a limb off and be assured it had worked if we're allowed to do that. I don't believe there's a price to pay, that sounds like something off a TV programme.

I can't think of anyone I'd use voodoo magic on. I could offer my services to undercover special forces in the UK though (tongue in cheek>

I wouldn't want them to.i agree but then suddenly I backtrack and don't.bwcause I think so much of their heart,in pain would want to lash out and kick the shit out of them.
But I no.i can picture the face of our service users as they realise or sit with what they've done.bwcause they are good.because they are innocent is the very reason they don't commit crimes and the reason I dont think no matter the justification that they could sit with watching someone bludgeoned by their own hands.or they might go mad, frantic,do it but then after, again,I don't think they'd cope.
I've had victims wish there family or a protector would go do it.ache for someone to avenge them but then actively had to stop them because they couldn't bare for a loved one to be like them.a vicious horror who inflicts pain.or want their loved one to sit with that.

I had a complete c* of a housemate who kept me awake until all hours and refused to stop so I totally get that. Sleep deprivation is hell.

No.

WoMandalorian · 04/01/2023 23:33

I would, but not on a personal level. I feel we should all band together and pick on someone like Putin. Seeing him in pain all day every day would be great.

And the Taliban, in fact everyone who deliberately uses force to impose their will over others. Intense pain to stop them and, hopefully, help them to realise that their way is wrong. They stop, the pain stops and the world improves.

StarsSand · 06/01/2023 06:19

Tempting but no!

OlympicProcrastinator · 06/01/2023 06:21

Yes. But then the only reason I’m not a murderer is fear of going to prison so..

Are you ok, though?

Magic always comes with a price, Dearie

only it's not real

In which case, your point is moot.

Eeiliethya · 06/01/2023 11:41

I wouldn't cause them harm.

There are a few people that I would do something similar to that bit in Bruce Almighty where Jim C manipulates Steve C to look a twat as anchor on live news.

I'd find that more satisfying than sticking them with pins and such like.

FortheBeautyoftheEarth · 06/01/2023 11:45

No I wouldn't - I do understand the urge to hurt people who have hurt you but it wouldn't make you feel any better. Not really. Where does it end? Letting people who have hurt you make you mean and bitter and vengeful, means they've won. Best 'revenge' (not that I believe in revenge) is to overcome it and thrive in your own life. Leave them be. What goes around DOES come back around eventually.

ILoveeCakes · 06/01/2023 11:47

Or you could go out into the real world and confront your problems head on rather than from behind a screen or via a doll

2FelisCatus · 06/01/2023 11:49

If you can think of 16 people you'd like to see harmed I think you need to choose who you give your time and energy to better. Controlling the things you can like the direction of your life and energy will be far more satisfying in the long run.

CallMeDaphne · 06/01/2023 11:52

When you begin a journey of revenge, start by digging two graves: one for your enemy, and one for yourself.

I agree with this PP, how do you manage to have 16 people that you wish such violent revenge on? 1 or 2 I understand, but 16?

Reminds me of the saying: If you run into an asshole in the morning, you ran into an asshole. If you run into assholes all day, you're the asshole.

Groomed by a gang?

Gang raped?

It's not too difficult to think of a few reasons if you try. Having said that, the OP is a bit confusing because she came back later to say it was 'lighthearted'.

So who knows.

That's the thing. OP said lighthearted...therefore I don't presume it's a gang etc, because that would certainly not be lighthearted!

Sartre · 06/01/2023 13:14

No because I don’t harbour resentment like this. I had an abusive step-dad growing up so not as if my life has been a bed of roses and I’ve never had a reason to hate anyone but I actually can’t be arsed feeling that level of hatred or negativity anymore. He’s dead now anyway, died suddenly and horribly two years ago which I felt was rather fitting.

Had an abusive ex too but I wouldn’t want to delicately inflict any harm on him. If a big truck ran him over tomorrow I’d probably feel the same way I did about my former step-dad’s death though. Poetic justice.

Sartre · 06/01/2023 13:14

Deliberately not delicately obviously.

By 10 men and 6 women over 37 years? That’s just unlikely. What’s far more likely is that these are people who are mildly irritating/rude/annoying, and op is unable to deal with things normally, preferring to fantasise over the pleasure she’d get from making others scream in pain.
