Not kill them or do serious harm but if you had the chance to do voodoo and get back at those who wronged toy would you do it and you get to watch them in a crystal ball in pain?

I know it sounds cruel but I would, I've being wronged so many times by bullies and it would delight me to get revenge.

No I would not. The best revenge is a life lived well.

I agree.

I also agree with the saying, attributed to Confucius but who knows, that if you seek revenge you should dig two graves.

SugarDatesandPistachios · 05/01/2023 07:45

No but then I am in a healing profession. Shocked at the vote! 😂

Goodread1 · 05/01/2023 07:57

@Devpatelslaughingeyes @Keyansier

I can totally relate to both your opinions too😜🤗😂

StridTheKiller · 05/01/2023 08:18

@MysweetAudrina And then voodoo myself slim by removing some stuffing 😁

No never, not even on my worst enemy - the repayment is too high. Their is a price for everything that you do magically.

If you believe in voodoo dolls then you must believe in karma and there being a “price to pay”. YABU

Go to counselling, take up kickboxing, vent. Your bullies are still winning….

LilDog · 05/01/2023 08:32

No I wouldn't use magic to harm them because I would feel that they have turned me into a bitter vengeful person and sallied my soul. I would feel like I lost the good parts of me.

The truth is, seeing your enemies get served their comeuppance by life feels more vindicated because it's like an external confirmation from the universe that someone or something saw what happened and is intervening to restore justice, sort of a divine intervention.

LilDog · 05/01/2023 08:32

sullied my soul*

LongerThanADryJanuary23 · 05/01/2023 08:36

There are a couple of people that IMO deserve a spot of voodoo doll treatment however I wouldn't as I believe in karma - if I can do voodoo then it can be done to me...
If there was 100% no chance of retribution then yep, you bet your ass I would! 😎

Gronkle · 05/01/2023 08:36

No. I don't hate anyone. If anyone does something I don't like, I just don't have anything to do with them anymore, no big deal or flouncing, I just get on with my life and don't engage.

BigMadAdrian · 05/01/2023 08:36

No way. This thread is dark

StrawberryWater · 05/01/2023 08:38

No.

Deliberately hurting someone makes you as bad as them in many ways.

Marigoldandivy · 05/01/2023 08:38

Well voodoo dolls wouldn’t hurt anyone, whatever you did to them, but it might make you feel better!

THisbackwithavengeance · 05/01/2023 08:41

There are people in this world who literally wouldn't piss on someone who was on fire. This thread is full of them.

Get a grip, stop seeing yourselves as wronged victims and move on.

And if you're that nasty, start worrying about the people you have yourselves wronged and want revenge on you!

nancydroo · 05/01/2023 08:42

I know someone who did this as a joke and then we fell out and I've had bad luck ever since 🤔

nancydroo · 05/01/2023 08:44

Some people believe in Juju (voodoo) so be careful...and nice!

DilemmaDelilah · 05/01/2023 08:46

I would... But not for pain. For humiliation I think.

DomesticShortHair · 05/01/2023 02:09

Only against your morals. That’s the thing about morals, they’re personal. Everybody has different ones.

Fantasising about making people scream in pain is morally wrong in the objective sense. The grand majority of people are aware that morals (being concerned with the principles of right and wrong behaviour) do have some objective standard. It is morally wrong to hurt others, it is morally right to help someone who is hurt, and so on.

Mummieslncorporated · 05/01/2023 09:39

No I wouldn't.

I would imagine what it would be like to do it, but I wouldn't. Not for anything that has happened in my life to date, anyway.

If serious harm way to come to one of my children deliberately, I might reconsider.

I disagree. For example, I would like to bet a significant number of people would be quite content, from a moral perspective, to do that to Wayne Couzens. I’m sure a large number of Ukrainians would be morally content to make Vladimir Putin scream in pain, as would I. Personally, I would sleep quite soundly at night after a day spent inflicting pain on those who have done the same to animals. All perfectly morally justifiable to us, but not to you.

I don’t think there is a ‘grand majority’ when it comes to morals. That’s why we have laws instead to police our society. One person’s abhorrence is another person’s perfectly acceptable.

I think there is a grand majority when it comes to some things. The grand majority who understand, for example, that it is morally wrong to commit rape - that’s why we understand that it is abhorrent to do it. It is wrong to fantasise about hurting others - it’s literally the kind of worrying personality trait that could see you diagnosed with something, it’s the type of behaviour you see in those who go on to commit serious crimes etc. You can justify it all you want, but it is abnormal to fantasise at length (as the OP has) about making people who have ‘wronged you’ (apparently at least 16 in OP’s mind) ‘scream in pain.’ That’s not normal behaviour.

VladmirsPoutine · 05/01/2023 09:56

I would. There's one person in particular whose grave I intend to dance on with new shoes when they die.

pillow56 · 04/01/2023 23:45

If you could do anything 'magic', wouldn't you want to concentrate on finding inner peace rather than voodoo revenge

watching them in pain would bring the inner peace

How sad for you then.

I think he replies to this thread alone would contradict your position. Especially considering the average poster on a Mumsnet isn’t usually representative of wider society. If you were correct as to your definition and judgement of ‘normal’, there wouldn’t have been as many positive responses to the OPs question as they have been.

clairethewitch70 · 05/01/2023 10:06

If it is justified and my conscience is clear I go for it. If I have any niggles I won’t. But voodoo dolls are just the top of the iceberg😉 and what I portray as Wiccan High Priestess is three fold return etc etc but behind the scenes on dark moon the Hekatean witch appears😀

Pleasepleasepleaseno · 05/01/2023 10:07

Omg! No way. You lot are scary bastards.
