Downton abbey Mandela effect?

This is such a small, insignificant thing but it’s really bugging me so just wondering if anyone else can remember the same thing! Ages ago I remember watching a trailer for downton abbey (I thought it could have been season 5) and the music over it was a female acoustic cover to the times they are a changing. I have searched high and low on YouTube and Google for this trailer and watched every trailer for every season of downton and that song does not appear in any of them! Anyone else?! Maybe I’m thinking of a totally different tv program or maybe I’m remembering wrong?

Not trying to stir up an argument but I literally don't understand the trajectory of this thread. I offered a contribution for what I thought the OP might be referring to, and then made another post that said "that's not what a cover version is" when another poster described what they thought a cover version was, and got jumped down my throat (unnecessarily, IMO when reading it back through). I'm not mansplaining anything - I didn't even explain anything.

No, the other poster explained something, and then got accused of mansplaining, even though they were a woman. I think the other person was just confused who she was talking to?

The thing the op was describing is not at all the mandela effect.

I thought originally that you were saying that some random woman singing ‘The Times they Are A-Changing’ wasn’t a cover. I see now that I was wrong and you were referring to something else in the thread rather than the OPs question.

I thought that too but then the other poster Jourdan specifically mentioned my name and said I'm a man (which I am) and said I was mansplaining (but I don't feel like I did).

Op - I think I remember this! I can't remember whether it was a woman singing, or the particular arrangement, but I think I remember it! At the end of the trailer Robert and Tom shake hands at a cricket match, I'm guessing in order to illustrate the point that times are changing.

It was me who got snarked at and called thick, however. Repeatedly.

An instrumental is not a song. The first person to sing a song is not doing a cover, are they? It's not a cover version when the original composer adds words to his own creation.

The music is the same! And I've no idea if the composer set the words, but it's still an arrangement of the original regardless of who did it. And I never said an instrumental was a song.

It's the generally accepted definition of a cover! It's a simple concept that I grasp perfectly well, thank you. I can also grasp the simple concepts of people mansplaining and being patronising, and I've had enough of both for today.

What you are ignoring though is between your posts there was another poster repeatedly asserting that Jourdain didn't understand a single word of English that she (I'm assuming she) was speaking.

In the context of several very rude posters on the thread its quite possible in the moment she felt like you were adding on to a pile on about a very pedantic criticism of a word she use that had absolutely no bearing on the point of the thread.

I don't want to go into it because it will feel like mansplaining, lol, but all of the conversation as it happened has been posted earlier in this thread. All I said was: "that's not what a cover is", which triggered an onslaught from @Jourdain11 towards me.
