I just knew that it was from someone who hated me as soon as I saw the glitter, bastards! Got this card in the post today, no name, just the address without a post code. No idea what it’s about, anyone?

Honestly this person doesn’t sound well so I wouldn’t take it personally.

nancydroo · 29/12/2022 14:41

Person is mental. Distinctive handwriting

BettyCake · 29/12/2022 14:42

Do you know a Darcy or Daryl who lives in a bungalow?

Do you know a Darcy or Daryl who lives in a bungalow?

I think it's 'Damp' bungalow.

pilates · 29/12/2022 14:44

How long have you lived there?
Could it be for previous occupant?
Just bin it.

PlaitBilledDuckyPuss · 29/12/2022 14:48

'do you go home every night' - could this be an accusation of an affair? The bit about English money or woman 'gave yourself away' could be something to do with how this alleged affair was discovered.

I thought Darcy to begin with, but then assumed it was damp.

This looks like the sort of drunken garbled things we tend to get from my OHs ex wife she got the house mortgage free, met him years after they split but she has a bee in her bonnet about me we just usually laugh and throw them away

nancydroo · 29/12/2022 14:50

Have you got a bungalow?

I was thinking along those lines too. Plus perhaps the person who sent it isn’t English.

They sound completely nuts. Do you have any idea who sent it? It's a woman's handwriting.

Yes.

Does it make sense to you @LegoBrick4 ? Doesn't to me at all so if it does I would expect it to be from someone who knows you

Aquasulis · 29/12/2022 14:54

Post it on your local FB page with a general bland ‘got this in the post. -anyone else have a clue what it is about’

dont bin it - keep it for a bit

TashaBasha · 29/12/2022 14:55

Sounds like somebody who wanted the bungalow you are living in.

RedDiamond · 29/12/2022 14:55

I keep getting an idea in my head that it may have been the previous occupant. Maybe they were "forced" into a care home by relatives?

wednesday32 · 29/12/2022 14:55

keep this in case you receive any more. The police take this type of harassment seriously.

nancydroo · 29/12/2022 14:56

Did you recently move in? Was there another buyer? I'd be looking out the window see if anyone is looking at the house. If you send something like that you want to se the reaction afterwards. A nice police car put the front might make them worry a bit. Install CCTV I would then they won't hand deliver it because you can see it

No, I don’t think it’s meant for me.

OP posts:
red4321 · 29/12/2022 14:57

It's rambling and makes no sense. The lack of name makes it sound like a grudge against a previous resident of your house, or perhaps someone suffering from a illness such as dementia.

I suspect it wasn't meant for you at all (if that makes you feel better)

IAmAlreadyRegrettingMyGreyColourScheme · 29/12/2022 15:04

Weird.
Personally if I was going to hate mail someone I'd put some thought into it so it at least makes sense, this fool sounds pissed!
I second putting it on Facebook. You could enquire if anyone recognises the handwriting as you think they have the wrong address??

TwoRockSalmonAndAHaporthOfChips · 29/12/2022 15:09

The early part makes no sense, but might be in response to something they think has happened, involving cash.

The second part could be because they think you are stalking them or trying to drive them out - because you want their damp bungalow for someone else.

It sounds like the sort of paranoia that typifies dementia to me. If you do something innocuous like walk your dog past their home regularly, they might think you’re lurking there and stalking them.

I wouldn’t worry about it, this person clearly isn’t well.

BirmaBrite · 29/12/2022 15:30

Do you live somewhere where the road names are similar but end in grove, road, crescent that sort of thing ? I wonder if they have got the address slightly wrong ?

LegoBrick4 · 29/12/2022 15:31

This bungalow’s not damp although a few people have mentioned that they have damp, which makes me think that the card was for someone in this area. They are mostly quite elderly people & seem decent enough. However, several of them are extremely nosy & seem to take it personal if you don’t stop & chat every time you see them to tell them all of your business. I was wondering if one of them could’ve sent it.

The style of writing suggests an older person to me, just the way its written.
