I just knew that it was from someone who hated me as soon as I saw the glitter, bastards! Got this card in the post today, no name, just the address without a post code. No idea what it’s about, anyone?

Keep the envelope and card, note the date, put it away. If there's any repeat take to police.

JoyBeorge · 29/12/2022 16:11

What was the door number on the envelope? 1 can look like 7 in bad writing for example.

Crumpleton · 29/12/2022 16:15

How long have you lived in the bungalow?
Did you meet the previous owner/tenant if not is there a neighbour that you chat to and can ask about who lived there previously.
They may know if there was any animosity between them and someone else.

Michellebops · 29/12/2022 16:50

I would alert the police to this, someone is deranged

MokaEfti · 29/12/2022 16:53

It does look like an older person's handwriting I think

GrannyAchingsShepherdsHut · 29/12/2022 17:06

How was it addressed? Is it definitely for your house if not specifically addressed for you?

Do you live somewhere that that English and other money routinely mix? Like in/near Scotland?

It's completely bizarre, I can't figure out what on earth they're on about.

Have you moved in recently? Could the 'do you go home every night?? Do you want this damp bungalow for someone' be someone with dementia or something think it's still the old resident's house but has noticed you've moved in thinks and you're there all the time trying to con them out of it or something?

LegoBrick4 · 29/12/2022 17:17

@Crumpleton I’ve been here over a year now, & never met the previous owner. I wouldn’t want to involve the nicer neighbours, & I definitely wouldn’t mention it to the gossipy ones.

At first glance I thought the handwriting at the top looked a bit different to that below. Think it’s an old person’s writing, but bottom bit written either a little while after the top but or after they’d had lots to drink or worked themselves up into a state etc.

JoyBeorge · 29/12/2022 17:33

Could it say shouldn't have 'paid' English money?

IHaveNoSoul · 29/12/2022 17:39

Get a ring doorbell or ask the neighbours that do have one if they have any footage

It came in the post.

Crumpleton · 29/12/2022 17:50

Oh gosh, I didn't mean ask outright, no mention of card, just a chit chat in general about what previous tenant was like then let the neighbour roll on with what's what, if anything.

Does seem a bit strange to receive it now as you've been there a year though.
Probably wasn't meant for you,
I'd put it at the back of a draw and try to forget about it.

Teaandtoast3 · 29/12/2022 17:51

Quite frankly that’s bizarre!

AgenceGrateau · 29/12/2022 18:10

The second pic it looks like the card is ripped along the fold. Was there writing on the left page of the inside of the card? Was it delivered ripped?

FerretInAFrock · 29/12/2022 18:19

Are you English and have moved to a different UK nation?

LucyAutumn · 29/12/2022 18:30

Sounds like a previous dispute with someone who lived at your place

LucyAutumn · 29/12/2022 18:32

Don't get rid, just incase anything escalates

Jux · 29/12/2022 18:51

Did you send someone - godchild, grandchild, nephew etc - money this Xmas and sign it from the English woman (could have been a joke-name)?

Jux · 29/12/2022 18:53

Or was this thread meant to be a bit of Royal baiting?

Where do you get Royal baiting from this?

Or was this thread meant to be a bit of Royal baiting?

How on earth did you arrive at that stretch of the imagination?

QueenSmartypants · 29/12/2022 19:05

The first sentence doesn't make sense..."shouldn't have put English money or woman gave yourself away"...

Huh??

StaunchMomma · 29/12/2022 19:10

We got something like this but it still had the original writing on from my Nan - it had been drawn all over (delightful, jizzing cocks!) and it had some abuse added - 'Happy Birthday YOU COCK!'

It was partially open - a clear indication that it had been frittered away at the local post sorting office by temp staff who open things that look like cards to check for money.

The local post office were very apologetic and said it was happening a lot.

Oops so it did 🤣

nancydroo · 29/12/2022 19:24

What did the postmark say where it was from. Local?
