To think LadBaby song is awful?

I’ll start by saying I quite like LadBaby and often laugh at their couples challenges.
Didn’t mind their sausage roll songs, wouldn’t bother listening to it but Xmas number ones are all about being silly so not a problem.
But this food aid song I find really awful. I know there’s a cost of living crisis and there’s a number of people really struggling in the U.K. but there’s also a lot of people who just moan about the prices whilst sitting in a warm pub with their five quid or whatever drink, or in a warm office or in a nice house with two cars on the drive etc and to compare that with people actually starving in Africa is just awful.

He's a Tory-voting tax dodging creep. I think he's scum.

How do you know he voted Tory?

Stopclutchingpearls · 23/12/2022 21:07

What is with all this hate?? I watched them today as I always do they unite clearly were very moved that they had become the fifth number one. I have been watching them say so much positive stuff about tressell trust and help people out.
I also know that they have said when they were younger they used food banks so why the jealousy?
Also to call them chavs like really wow
Also where is it written that they vote tory?

Stopclutchingpearls · 23/12/2022 21:08

Quite not unite lol

LetsGoFlyAKiteee · 23/12/2022 21:19

I dont think was ever said who they voted for but were quoted for this for one of the number ones they got before. From years back so guess feelings change..would hope so!

Of the new Conservative administration, Hoyle said: “I’m sure they’re gonna do a great job.” Pressed on whether a government that introduced austerity would do anything to mitigate the issue of food poverty, he said that the nation had to have faith that “the right people” had been voted in. He declined to state who he had voted for, but clarified that he had voted, and that it was important to do so.

It's an absolute pile of crap, like all the others they've had. And now they have had 5 Christmas No 1 hits in a row. Confused Come back X Factor all is forgiven....

I am not going to elaborate, or get too personal, but I cannot STAND them to be honest - this bloke and his wife who make up Lad baby. I find them unbearably smug and irritating, and turn off the TV when they're on it. There are many negative things about them which I won't post on here, but suffice to say they're not as amazing as they make themselves out to be, Just look at #ladbaby on Twitter. Some of the stuff you will see about them is quite shocking. They really do leave a sour taste in the mouth.

Which one of the two are you? 😂

Lysianthus · 23/12/2022 23:50

Yes this year's was awful. However, they've kept the food banks in the news and even if it's a small ££ it's better than nothing. I don't know these people and other than MN I am not on social media. I don't care what is xmas number one. I do care about people being able to eat. So if it's between an X factor winner or a Trussell trust ambassador (they would have been vetted) I'll go with the TT.

Quirrelsotherface · 24/12/2022 00:02

It makes me worry for this country when those two are being held up as idols. It's scary. No class, no intelligence..just chavvy chancers.

Prescottdanni123 · 24/12/2022 00:09

@Whattown

Like I said. A different song and I wouldn't have a problem. I can appreciate what they are doing for food asks without having to agree with the song choice. Which was my initial point. I don't like the song they've done this year for various reasons.

Clymene · 24/12/2022 00:10

Raised £300k for the shitty Trussell Trust who charge foodbanks for membership and £2m for Mark and Roxanne.

The British public is unbelievably gullible sometimes.

willithappen · 24/12/2022 00:19

No idea how they got the number 1 anyway. Online streams show a huge amount more (in the millions) for Sidemen (who were also raising for charity)
Very bizarre and it was a horrible song. No idea who's buying

Nat6999 · 24/12/2022 00:22

They did the video at a school in my home city of Sheffield.

Pondere · 24/12/2022 00:27

I think it’s really disrespectful to compare the cost of living crisis to children dying from famine in Africa.

They’ve obviously made lots of money from their staged videos and new founded fame so I highly doubt they do these songs for charitable purposes…

littlemisslozza · 24/12/2022 00:29

Jason Manford's assembly bangers is also raising money for the Trussell Trust and is a bit of a novelty. Shame people haven't gone for that and a good singalong instead.

Florenz · 24/12/2022 00:56

Do Youtube views count towards the charts?

So not factually correct at all and just hate to back up a false narrative

SchnauzerEyebrows · 24/12/2022 02:04

HeadAboveTheParapet · 21/12/2022 11:53

Wow I can't believe the hate.

I don't think it's warranted at all.

They have raised the profile of the trust massively. They have people thinking about donations to home charities.

They have made something from a few funny videos and done well. It's such a shame that people then feel the need to tear them down.

The original band aid and subsequent songs are all a bit cringe. It's putting western values onto other cultures. Have any of you hailing the original actually looked at how that money actually 'helped' and how much went to line the pockets of dodgy regimes.

I don't think they make any money directly from sales of the songs.
So the whole 99p doesn't go to charity but if they were getting paid they wouldn't be able to say all profits go to the charity.

They make money from the publicity and sales of clothing etc.
I'm not sure how anyone makes money from being 'insta' or viral famous but It's not going to last forever.

Instagram, Facebook, Youtube & TikTok pay creators once they get so many followers/subscribers etc. Many are on MILLIONS

I actually downloaded the sidemen song. So did a lot of people I know on the hopes it would knock off labbaby.

willithappen · 24/12/2022 07:32

Just for clarity I meant that the lad baby song was a horrible one not the Sidemen - I downloaded there's too 😅

LikeTearsInRain · 24/12/2022 10:35

Love the sidemen.

Funny how they censored the Santa Claus is missing line in the chorus and completely skipped Viks verse. Presumably to stop any kids listening being upset and getting complaints.

OhmygodDont · 24/12/2022 11:51

Hopefully they do another one next year. That or team with Jimmy too.

Dazza7 · 26/12/2022 18:16

This feed the uk is a complete insult to the whole UK I think all of ladbabys songs should be banned not being allowed to profit off them I'm not Impressed one bit I'm absolutely shocked that elton john took part in their songs.im going to start a petition to get ladbaby.
