Bride wants me to send a picture over of what I've chosen

I must wear a dress that's sage green. So must DD and DS (wear sage green). DD has to wear a dress but is exempt (bride's words) from wearing ballet slippers because she isn't walking yet

The men must wear any suit colour but black, with a sage green tie.

AIBU to tell her I can't find anything in my size really that's sage green?

She wants me to send pictures of what I've chosen for the kids before they turn up on the day

To clarify again, I'm not a bridesmaid

But I would cheeky enough to say "still looking! Will let you know when I find something!" Then wear wtf I want, in my style, size and budget and whatever fucking shade of green I want. Green is considered unlucky for a wedding in some cultures by the by.

Some people feel that it's very unlucky to wear Green to a wedding.

Beyond that it's just weird and controlling. In the pictures it's going to look like there was a MASSIVE bridal party.

The saying used to be "Married in Green, ashamed to be seen", but I think that was the bride in the days before white was fashionable.

Can you imagine the amount of people turning up in the same sage green dresses!

If I didn't happen to have a sage green outfit, I'd either scour charity shops, dye something, or bow out. Possibly send a photo of a dress she'll approve but I would neither buy it nor have any intention of wearing it. Wear something you own already and give a flimsy excuse on the day. See if you get sent home.

Personally I think all you guests should co-ordinate and wear the same sage green dress, and the men should wear the same suits. Malicious compliance for the win.

Op you are putting other women down a simler size and bigger then you.

Could you ask a local dressmaker if they could make it smaller if you bought one of the larger sizes? If it's a dress you really like it might be an option if the dressmaker is affordable and if the dress can be resized easily.

Have you asked her why you as a NON-bridesmaid HAVE to wear sage? I'm sorry, but any sane person would ask this. Is there some kind of colour theme for ALL guests? If you are not a bridesmaid, not in the bridal party in any sense and there is no colour code tell her to politely go fuck herself.
