Naked charity calendar - AIBU

I recently purchased a naked charity calendar from a local sports club as a lighthearted way of helping a good cause and a little bit of fun. However I have told my partner and he has completely overreacted and wants me to get rid of it comparing it to pornography.
what’s more is my son overheard us arguing about the calendar and he’s not happy either and wants it binned.

Telling your middle aged female partner you are uncomfortable with half naked pictures of men half her age on your bedroom wall is hardly “controlling”!

It's not something I would be at all comfortable with but the "think of their mothers!" argument seems very odd and irrelevant.

Comparing it to porn, expecting her to remove or bin it is controlling.

Thankfully I don’t know anyone who would do anything other than chuckle at the calendar, husband and kids included.

A prude because he doesn't want to see pictures of naked men, nor does he want to know his mom is looking at pictures naked men his age? Ok...

I wouldn’t be impressed if DH came home with a calendar filled with naked women personally. Not jealousy or anything along those lines, it’s just tacky as fuck and our house isn’t a garage or builders merchants.

It's for charity,the participants were happy to do it,it's not a full frontal I cannot see why anyone would complain.

Consists of middle aged, flabby men along with lots of other body types-one of the best things about rugby imo 🤷‍♀️
I highly doubt any coercion was involved, maybe not the most original idea these days but no full frontal nudity and just a bit of fun imo.

This whole 'think about the mothers' thing is just weird. Like, you are essentially expecting strangers to both think of YOU and consider YOUR feelings while admiring your son's naked body 😂

Strangers don't care that you're upset with your child's choices, especially those strangers who agree with your child's choices and give money towards them. And assuming all mothers would be as upset as you, therefore no one should take nude photos nor buy them in order to protect their feelings, is just ridiculous.

I'm all for ensuring porn and erotica are safe and consensual, but erasing it because I personally don't like it is unrealistic, dictatorial and unfair.

I wish I hadn’t commented what I had because I’ve clearly mistake the sexual (or lack of) nature of these calendars. I obviously don’t think that people should consider someone’s unknown relatives in every scenario, it was about paying adults to be naked for their own enjoyment.

Me too. It’s a dirty old man, pervy thing to do as the women would be the age of our daughters. And yet when a woman brings home a calendar with naked men the age of her son…oh that’s harmless, just a bit of fun. Double standards. I remember buying a 'hot priests' calendar in Rome. It was funny. DH and I both laughed. I didn't ever intend to hang it up. It went in a drawer.
The point of these charity calendars is that you buy them. Making a donation and leaving the charity with piles of calendars misses the point.
