Be honest, how long before you figured it out

To PPs complaining that it really only works if all the other grades are identically A: it would STILL work if, for example, LH column for any of the subjects except history had, say, a C and the one to the right of it then showed an A. He would have gone UP in those subjects - as long as he goes DOWN in history.

🤓

That'd be really funny if the other grades were A.

They dont need to be A because he stayed the same in all the other subjects. The reprort card is for 2 terms

cinnabongene · 18/12/2022 11:01

About 10 Seconds but it’s not very funny. Also they’ve over complicated it with lots of different grades

MolkosTeenageAngst · 18/12/2022 11:01

Took me 5-10 seconds. Not hilarious but okay for a one-panel comic.

TheRealHousewife · 18/12/2022 11:06

I’ve got a joke for you …

Q) Why did the oyster have to leave the party?

A) He pulled a Mussel

😬

Forfrigz · 18/12/2022 11:06

It took me just over a minute, once I had the song playing in my head I got it

BringMeTea · 18/12/2022 11:06

That is a very poor joke isn't it.

ilovesushi · 18/12/2022 11:07

"He'll go down in historeeeee"

AnybodyAnywhere · 18/12/2022 11:10

Got it - clever 😂

MistyGreenAndBlue · 18/12/2022 11:10

Oh deer 🤭🥴🦌

I'm not even sorry 🤣

Muinteoiragusmamai · 18/12/2022 11:10

It's good😀but would have been clearer if all subjects were high with, say, an F for history. I think the two columns of marks confused matters, as I haven't ever seen them presented like that in a report card. I'd have used one column. Where I am, to 'go down' in exams just means you failed...so you don't need the comparison to last term at all. As in 'Rudolph did well in most subjects but went down in history' just means he failed history here.
I like it though.

icanwearwhatiwant · 18/12/2022 11:12

I got it pretty quickly but it didn't really make me roll around on the floor with laughter 🤷🏽‍♀️

Getoff · 18/12/2022 11:12

My time to get it is infinite, because I don't carry the lyrics of this song around in my head.

Ha ha. Took me a minute, but funny in a groan sort of way.

Getoff · 18/12/2022 11:16

Making all other grades the same as the before grade in history may not be logically necessary, but it would make the joke far more obvious, so would be an improvement, if you actually want to increase the chances of anyone being amused.

Why thank you. I'm here all week 😁

Redburnett · 18/12/2022 11:19

Far too subtle for me. Had no clue until someone gave the line from the song

Bleachmycloths · 18/12/2022 11:20

About 20 seconds. Obviously the joke had to be on the report card. The D stands out - “You’ll go down in HiS - STOR - EE!!”
I think it’s clever.

It's a Dad joke. Corny. Something to make you groan.

Notimeforaname · 18/12/2022 11:21

About 4 seconds.

I like it though.

But I think the idea is to work it out so you don’t actually get it straight away.

Sorry, I didn't mean to quote Getoff in my response.

What I meant to ask is, what does "not carry the lyrics of this song around in my head" mean? That you don't know the song?

RaRaRaspoutine · 18/12/2022 11:23

I got it pretty quickly (sang the song at double speed to get it) but I like puzzles!! Lateral thinking stuff is fun. I also found it funny but groan-worthy.

TheOrigRights · 18/12/2022 11:23

JanglyBeads · 18/12/2022 10:59

Got it but only whenI read the clue above.

It'd be better if the other grades went (eg)
A A+
B B+
C B
B D+
A A
or whatever......

Why? Only the history grade needs to go down. The others can either be the same or go up.
