I've got it now after all the hints on here. But would never have got it at all otherwise!

The other grades don't have to be As - they just need to stay the same.

I didn't get it...even when I sang the song - but maybe because I sang Jingle Bells instead.🤦‍♀️

Thought it was song related but only worked out when prompted by another poster. Still don't actually get it and don't think funny but I'm v literal.

I didn't get it without hints. I didn't understand the columns 1-4 - are they supposed to be termly grades? Hence one particular subject getting worse. I assume it's American as we never had anything like that at school.

People who think all the grades should be 'A', it's not 'Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, is terrible at History'.

Have you noticed that in the first column are his grades from the last time, and in the second column is his most recent result? So Rudolph got a 'B-' in math last time and also a 'B-' this time. An 'A' in science before and still an 'A' now and so on. Until you get to History where he got a respectable 'B+' last time but only managed 'D' on his recent test.

I only got it after playing the song in my head. That is a terrible, terrible joke. DP loves a good dad joke but even he rolled his eyes.
