How cold is it where you are?

Just thought I’d start a thread as it would be interesting to see the different temperatures across the uk (well maybe not interesting, but feel free to comment if you want!)

its currently -9 here. It’s absolutely freezing and it feels like a horrible damn/wet cold. We have the heating on atm and hot water bottles and it’s still chilly. Interestingly, I have friends in another city and the temperature is lower but still cold (-5) and they said it doesn’t feel particularly colder than normal.

whats the temperature like where you are?

Currently 0 here in the SW.
-5 is higher than -9, not lower. Where about a are you? Northerly I guess from the difference in temp to here

-2 Essex/Suffolk/Cambridge border

-3 but i dont think its cold outside at all which is weird !

Yeah that’s what I meant about my friend too! It’s cold by temperature but she said it doesn’t feel awful and freezing like you would expect for that temperature, whereas it feels so cold here!

-6° in the car this morning - I’ve never seen it that low. A relatively balmy -3° tonight.

-4 at the moment, was -6 at 6am, but funny enough doesnt feel very cold in the house.Warmer Days have felt colder if that makes sense! East coast of Scotland

It looks as if all the snow that settled last night has melted - but it was magical last night, Trafalgar Square had lots of crunchy snow, quite a rare sight.
Took my friend about two and a half hours to get home to south London though - normally a half hour journey.

-2 in coastal Northumberland, with fog.

-2 in the west of Ireland, it was -3 all day so has got warmer.

I'm North Lanarkshire. It's been -6 according to my thermometer and I definitely wouldn't describe it as damp, wet cold. Today's the day I've had the heating on the most. My windows were all frozen shut this morning and outside is frozen solid.

-9 central belt Scotland 🥶 🥶 🥶 Ddog had his fleece and jacket on when we went for a very quick last sniff. I've turned into my mother and put a hot water bottle in the bed to take the chill off the sheets.....

-6 here in rural Derry. Not venturing out much this week.

-2 in bedfordshire, but we have had the snow so today has felt a lot warmer to me than the weekend did
