Anyway, work's Secret Santa. Ordered two gifts, one was a holder for glasses. Described as 'handmade from authentic durable Indian Shisham wood'. Erm... Not even close. 😅

What ordered, versus what I got!

Maybe the OP’s recipient puts their computer on their desk – a handy horizontal surface, sometimes incorporating drawers and shelves and other storage – where glasses can be kept.

I mean it's a crap gift in the first place but Amazon is always a lottery for arts and crafts quality.

Well, this blew up more than expected. 😅 A big hello to the brutal posters questioning my apparent bad taste! I'm actually usually very good at buying gifts. But I barely know the man I had to buy for, couldn't get to a shop, car broken down and I only remembered 48 hours beforehand.

I've no idea if my colleague drinks wine, supports a footy team, plays a sport.

I see from the replies that some love the concept and some hate it.

Who does it have to be a solution to a problem? This is just a decorative/fun place to put your glasses when they aren't on your face.

Do you only buy gifts that solve a problem?

Oh it's ugly but it's actually a bit more creative than wine or chocolates so I wouldn't be annoyed if I received it as it shows you thought outside the box. Wine is such a boring, unthoughtful gift, even as a wine drinker.

The giraffe is quite cute though, I'd actually like that one.

Yeah generic wine or chocs are just lazy, couldn't be bothered to put any effort in gifts. That's fine if that's what you're going for, of course.

I posted this on a FB group and a number of people replied saying they'd ordered the same thing, half got the pictured item for £7, so yes it is possible to be as pictured. The other half got similar looking piece of shite as I got. 😅
