Lots of debate in previous months about the high profile marriage split of a famous (ish) Welsh actor, who got his big break with a bit part in the Titanic movie. He has spent the last year doing no work, no childcare and just traveling around the world with his new girlfriend who appears to also have no job.

And now he seems to have admitted that his living expenses are being funded by his poor partner who is also battling a challenging life-changing illness.

He's just another cocklodger, isn’t he?

Hey Alice Stan, read the court documents. She has a 3 year PRO, because Alice is abusive. He works and she lies all over twitter. The documents prove he's being paying while she sits on her arse abusing him. When did Alice last work despite having a nanny till recently?

While I'm sure IG isn't perfect, everything I've heard about this indicates that a huge amount of responsibility how the situation is currently playing out lies with AE and I can well believe that her actions have damaged his career to the point where he is struggling. I'll reserve my sympathy for the kids and him, in that order.

Id bet that his loss of work has a lot to do with her rants on social media. Look at Amber Heard, if you get nothing but negative press studios wont rush to work with you. She leaks all of his private texts on twitter, who would take the risk of working with him on a big project with his mental ex wife on the prowl for drama all the time?

It looks like hes told the court that neither of them can afford the house anymore. Seems the right thing to do rather than just stop paying and make his children homeless by force. Split the equity 50/50 and move into something more affordable

It's all very well saying "Alice needs to get a job" but no director is going to want someone with her history on their project.

There's a huge amount of evidence that Alice Evans is extraordinarily abusive to Ioan Gruffud, not just post split but also while they were together. It's all in the hundreds of pages of evidence he submitted to the DVRO hearing she didn't even turn up to. She's conducted a long and nasty harassment campaign against him and the girlfriend and alienated the kidsvwho are going through reunification therapy.
In this most recent court submission Gruffud presented evidence he has 14k across 2 Bank accounts and is 85k in debt. Evans has more money than him while he's continued to pay all expenses for his ex and children for 2 years. He's been unable to pay for the house for 3 months and if they don't sell it'll be foreclosed upon.
This isn't the first time he's been out of work for a significant length of time - not unusual for a jobbing actor. Evans has a responsibility to support her kids too.

I think he would love to work though so YABU. I think the fallout from his marriage has limited his opportunities to work. I do think Alice should get a job as well.

IG needs to come home, S4C and BBC Wales drama department would keep him plentifully busy!

I do wonder if he'd like to return to the U.K. but can't as the DC are resident in the states? He's going for 50:50 custody I think so would need to be present for the DC at least for now.

I also wonder if the custody issues are preventing him from taking work he might otherwise be able to do? I'd imagine it would be difficult to travel and be on location for long periods whilst also trying to be present for the DC. I wonder if he's prioritising the DC over work for now.

I’ve noticed that there is a small, but very vocal group of women online who are obsessed with this divorce and congregate on multiple platforms habitually accusing anyone who directs even a hint of criticism in Ioan Gruffud’s direction of being Alice Evans, and relish at the prospect of interacting with her (see the post before this one).

It’s not normal behaviour.

I am not vocal on any forum other than this one.

I just happen to be passionate about the fact that female abusers are still not properly recognised or dealt with. I follow this case with interest as it has many parallels with a case here in the UK that I am involved with.

IMHO female abusers should be dealt with in the same way as male abusers. There should also be recognition that this exists and people should stop brushing it under the carpet.
I first became aware of this case because of the granting of a 3 year domestic violence restraining order against this woman and those are pretty hard to come by. The other facts I have gleaned from court papers and not from forums.

Went and done some googling cuz I had no idea who Ioan was and I kinda feel sorry for the poor bloke.

He was great in Another Life with Natasha Little.

I think Alice just can't accept the fact that the marriage is over and has made it into a very nasty drama that has left her with no dignity.
