To feel disgusted with myself for just doing this

Itsfridayforgiveyourself · 25/11/2022 19:26

Went to a drive through before, ordered my Dd a happy meal and myself a Big Mac, Mcchicken sandwich, cheeseburger and coke. No idea why, just always wanted to order my favourite things and not do the meal thing. Generally always with Dh and would feel kind a pig in front of him.
I barely ever drink Coke either, literally only when I have a mcds or pizza, which doesn’t sound like it by this thread, but is pretty rare!
Whyyyyy 🙈it wasn’t even that bloody good, not like I imagined it 😫

YABU for feeling disgusted.

In what fucking world is a big mac, a cheeseburger and a mcchicken three adult meals?

A maccies cheeseburger is a snack, at most.

A big mac is lunch on its own, or dinner with fries or a fruit bag.

A mcchicken is essentially the same calories as fries but with more nutrition.

Obviously not something that should be done regularly but you're hardly a glutton. People are fucking ridiculous and so desperate to be seen as dainty UwU 'I could never eat that 🥺'

Don't make a habit of it but don't beat yourself up. It's not disgusting to eat.

Crucible · 25/11/2022 21:14

@IDontWantToBeAPie
festive pie?
Well I might just have to try
a festive pie.

Worlds worst Haiku.

Ramble0n · 25/11/2022 21:15

A maccies cheeseburger is just a starter.

FlamingNancy · 25/11/2022 21:16

Large Mcchicken sandwich meal with extra mayo, double cheeseburger two apple pies and a coke with no ice. So disgusting yet so satisfying.

Ramble0n · 25/11/2022 21:17

Throws a Greggs sausage roll, a festive slice and a caramel do nut into the bunfight.

Thats just not true. Binge eating and binge drinking are both problems.

Anything can be a problem if the reason for it is because of disordered eating or other factors.

Sometimes it's ok to let go and have a few drinks or a bit too much food. If there is an underlying reason for doing this which is harmful to a persons health or mental well-being then it is not.

I don't think that is what this thread is about.

Here here! The last time I went to McD's I was shocked at how small the McChicken Burger was – I swear it's halved in size since the Nineties. Four bites and it was gone.

MrsWhites · 25/11/2022 21:20

You went wrong ordering so many bread items - that’s why it wasn’t as good as you imagined, the bread takes over.

My dream/secret order is a double quarter pounder, 20 chicken nuggets, large chips, large coke and 2 sour cream dips!

heidbuttsupper · 25/11/2022 21:20

I do this all the time OP, it's great

RisingSunn · 25/11/2022 21:22

I like a McDonalds now and then - but that sounds like a large amount of food in one sitting!

FFS

I eat really healthily most of the time, but sometimes I choose to have a blow out and eat a whole Dominos large pizza (with extra cheese) 🫣

There is a huge difference between this and someone who has an eating disorder or disordered eating, I would suggest you research this before making such ridiculous comments.

The same as going out for a night and having a bottle of wine, if you did it every night it would be an issue but not every so often.

i’m always amazed at families who order 2 dominos pizzas and say ‘there was plenty, easily fed 6 of us’ - we would eat a pizza each in our house!

DarkKarmaIlama · 25/11/2022 21:24

Sometimes I will randomly go through the drive thru and sit on my own in the car park eating a double cheeseburger and large fries. Might order some nuggets next time as well 😋.

Itsfridayforgiveyourself · 25/11/2022 21:26

🤣🤣🤣Omg at some of the comments 🙈

Okay, so, my Dd is 5, she could tell dh but tbh she was in her seat in the back eating her little meal and playing, so she didn’t notice.

It wasn’t three adult meals, it was a Big Mac burger, Mcchicken sandwich and cheeseburger.

It *was very filling and once I was in the middle/towards the end, I did wonder wtf I was doing 😂

In general we are very healthy at home, think brocolli, cauliflower, carrots, fruits, salmon etc etc on the weekly shopping list ( although I don’t really know why I feel the need to explain this 🤷🏻‍♀️)
I also don’t drink, smoke etc anymore…did years and years ago, so food is probably my thing now for a little blow out

I’m more pissed off it didn’t live up to my expectations and *Do think I overdid it/made the wrong choices 🤔
I’m not obese or about to cause the nhs any issues…it was just a thing I did 🤷🏻‍♀️

Lol at people thinking my Dd is six months 😅

Cheeseburger, chicken mayo, chips, Fanta, mozzarella dippers... Then sometimes a Krispy Kreme doughnut. No guilt no regrets but like you deffo not when husband is present 😁

BosaNova · 25/11/2022 21:28

You are ok big mac has shrunk so needs sodes of burgers

DarkKarmaIlama · 25/11/2022 21:30

I don’t see the point in single cheeseburgers or medium fries but each to their own.

I could polish off 4 doubles and 4 large fries easily. I would be full by that point.

Some people really don't understand normal eating, do they.
Ok, ok, ok, pizaaaaaaaa, ok, ok, ok, oooh maccies burgers, ok, ok, ok....

It shouldn't really be so strange context!

FancyANewID · 25/11/2022 21:33

Really op, it's the lack of chips that failed you.

Even if you're not all that keen on chips...you need balance.

It's like the cooked tomato half on a mixed grill. Fucking bland but you need that mouthful of tomato to remind you just how amazing your steak is.

ToGanymedeAndTitan · 25/11/2022 21:35

I've voted YABU.
As in, what's wrong with it, I presume you don't do it every day?!
Sometimes you just want junk food and there's nothing wrong with that, gerrit down yer neck 😁
Also, eat what you like, I'm more concerned about you feeling like a pig based on whatever others are eating!

Housenoob · 25/11/2022 21:36

YABU for not getting a double cheeseburger. For me it's the perfect ratio of crappy meat to crappy cheese to crappy bread. Always with extra gherkin, sauce and onions.

stuntbubbles · 25/11/2022 21:38

Sorry, your update suggests you buy broccoli, cauliflower AND carrot, EVERY week? I’d be full from just one of those, have you sought help for your gluttony?

janglealltheway · 25/11/2022 21:45

When they started the 20 'share' box of cheese melt dippers (can't remember if it was last year or year before maybe?) I was so excited. I adore them. Turns out 20 is a bit much for one person! I couldn't manage them all and started to feel a little unwell. Whoever knew there was such a thing as too many cheese melt dippers?!

I tried to eat a box of 20 on the morning of my wedding 🤣 what a mistake that was!

These threads are like drawing ointment for the joyless. It's three burgers, FFS, not a swan inside a dodo inside an emu.
