6-8 in our house, teenagers and adults. With peas or baked beans (and sometimes mash).

Or 4 in a sandwich (with cucumber and brown sauce)

We're all a healthy weight but 3 or 4 wouldn't touch the sides!

Cucumber and brown sauce?

I’m not sure you deserve any fish fingers if you’re going to do that to them.

GlassDeli · 17/11/2022 18:25

3-4

SereneSemolina · 17/11/2022 18:25

I do 4! Love 'em!

Overthebow · 17/11/2022 18:26

My two year old will happily eat three fish fingers with chips too so for an adult 5 with chips and beans? I wouldn’t think 4 would be enough. Can’t believe some posters would only have 2, that’s the same as a one year old.

botleybump · 17/11/2022 18:26

3 for me, and the other half gave the same answer.
Agreed we'd probably do 4 in a hangover sarnie though!

Little one gets two

BashfulClam · 17/11/2022 18:27

Box if 10 so between 2 of us we have 5 each when it wax 12 we had 4 and would have a portion left.

AlwaysLatte · 17/11/2022 18:27

I make them but they tend to be quite big, so usually 2 each.

Surely a Mumsnet fish finger would be enough for us all, though?

brighterthanthemoon · 17/11/2022 18:27

4

My husband says you're fucking spot on and if he'd known this about me we wouldn't be married

chevvyroo · 17/11/2022 18:28

2 for a child, 3 for an adult.

Comtesse · 17/11/2022 18:29

Kids have 4, adults have 5

Grey23 · 17/11/2022 18:29

Gosh, one feeds three of us with leftovers.

redbigbananafeet · 17/11/2022 18:30

There are 236 calories in 4 fish fingers. Anyone having 2 for their dinner is underrating. 4 year old children get 3 with 2 new potatoes, peas and soup for their lunch.

Leumurshavethumbs · 17/11/2022 18:30

5

SeaThingChild · 17/11/2022 18:30

I'm veggie so no stake in this but looking at our box of Tesco ones 3 fish fingers is 90g and 163 calories, so not actually that much and so it depends what you're eating them with, but 6 plus veggies and mash wouldn't be a bad meal calorie-wise for an adult

TheYearOfSmallThings · 17/11/2022 18:30

3 or 4 for an adult, 2 or 3 for a child.

FlounderingFruitcake · 17/11/2022 18:31

Two 😂 my 1YO eats 2

I have 4 but only ever in a sandwich. Too toddlery to eat them any other way!

MultiTulip · 17/11/2022 18:32

Gymrabbit · 17/11/2022 18:18

With chips and beans I’d have 3 and I’m both overweight and a bit piggy.

anymore is massively greedy.

4 fish fingers is 236 calories FFS

OneTC · 17/11/2022 18:32

5 crispy batter ones on Jackson's bread with ketchup and sriracha is a perfect sandwich

Fish fingers and soup 😱

BatshitCrazyWoman · 17/11/2022 18:32

I have 2 or 3, with chips and peas (lots of peas, I love peas). Full grown woman, not under or overweight. That's fine for me, others might be hungrier 🤷🏼‍♀️

pocketvenuss · 17/11/2022 18:32

OP, what is a 10 year old child's portion? 3?

I'd think an adult would be maybe 5

Missmarplesknittingbuddy · 17/11/2022 18:33

The correct portion for an adult is exactly the number that adult wants to eat at that meal . Generally i would eat 3 to 4 but if I wanted 6 , that's what I would have .
I wouldn't let anyone police my portion size.

Mosik · 17/11/2022 18:33

Boooooot · 17/11/2022 18:21

I genuinely don’t believe a grown ass adult would only have two.

DH and I just had two each for tea, along with chips and peas.

TidyDancer · 17/11/2022 18:35

I'm genuinely surprised at this thread. I've maybe had a maximum of 5 on the odd occasion if I was really hungry but usually 3 or 4. I'm shocked that 8 are considered a serving!
