4 for adults

But I usually serve with beans, veg and a potato waffle

Fish fingers and potato waffles 😍

I measured it out once😂
Hope everyone is measuring out thier chips as well.
Random selection of chips.
Some McCains have 110g, some asda has 125g, Albert something 100g.
Don't forget portion of peas is 80g....

They are unbelievably small when you weigh them out. Dieting over the years and weighing things out I go without the chips because the miserably paltry little portion thats 100g for some chips is horrible.

And the cereal, thats another thing I dont really eat, it just doesnt fill me up but 30g is almost invisible in the bowl!

Chocoholic900 · 17/11/2022 21:22

Just check the packaging, think it's 4 fish fingers for a portion size. I'd eat 3 personally.

Honeynutcheerios · 17/11/2022 20:54

Do people on here also only have 30g of cereal?

I measured 25g of granola once and nearly fainted. It was about a tea spoons worth. I’d been having huge bowls every morning. I must have been eating about 4 million calories every morning for breakfast!!

It is purely so they can claim it's "only xx cal ler portion!".
I ignored portions when cal counting and just went eith reasonable amount of stuff which fit into overall count

I remember watching the hairy bikers when they were doing their diet many years go, they set out what their normal usual food was and the dark haired one did his breakfast, a nice healthy bowl of granola with fruit on top and yoghurt (not low fat), it came to over 1000 calories!!!

Lol 40g of porridge isn’t much of anything either. I usually need to eat at least 100g with 100-200ml semi skimmed to feel satisfied. Works out to approx 350-400 cals which I think is about right for a meal that keeps you full.

Needmorelego · 17/11/2022 21:30

@RunLolaRun102 I was at a BBQ once and the host cooked potato waffles on there. They were awesome.

solvendie · 17/11/2022 21:32

I don’t eat huge portions and I don’t eat fish fingers often but when I do, I have 5 between two slices of white bread with butter. I do find it too much coating so if I was having this kind of fish for a meal, as an adult I would want a fish portion not fingers.

Generic ‘fish’ fingers are a lot smaller than defined type of fish fingers e.g. cod so can seem really small.

They are so good on a bbq. Home made is even better as it gets a lovely smoky flavour in the waffle iron.

ChocolateCakeYum · 17/11/2022 21:34

No more than 4 for me.

Ds usually asks for 3.

Oh no I dont go by portions but if Ive got enough left for 100g of chips, Id rather have something else with my dinner so that I dont have to look at such a sad sight.

Always amazed how much some people eat.

3 for me. 4 for DH

With chips or mash, broccoli and peas.

5 or 6 i s just greedy 😂

Always amazed at how much some people eat. Breaded fish and more potato?! Greedy 🤣

BellaEllaWella · 17/11/2022 21:39

Four for a woman - possibly six for a man
5 as an average

Itsonthestairs · 17/11/2022 21:40

Hubby says he has 6 in his portion

redbigbananafeet · 17/11/2022 21:42

BosaNova · 17/11/2022 21:12

Found illustration of correct chip portion😂

Brilliant! I looked at a bag of chips to infer after reading this thread and steak cut oven chips were nearly 200 cal for 100g. You don't get a lot of chip for your cals! That and the 2 fish finger gang would be on just over 300'calories for their evening meal.

Teder · 17/11/2022 21:42

The number of utterly disgusting greedy posters who only eat 2 or 3 fish fingers but then add on they eat more carbs (shock horror!). Bet it’s not healthy mash or chips, probably creamy and cheesy and greasy. Utterly revolting.
anyway, I would never be as gross and greedy as to eat food. I exist on water and air and superiority. 🙂

MassiveSaladWithChristmasTrimmings · 17/11/2022 21:44

I like to find a goldfish that has a literal finger as that, served with a massive slice of radish, would be more than enough. Anymore and I would be blue lighted to hospital for an enema.

Cas112 · 17/11/2022 21:46

4

CambsAlways · 17/11/2022 21:51

Good god! I’d have more than 2. My husband would have 6, I’d have 4

StrictlyProfessional3 · 17/11/2022 21:52

Dh doesn't like them
I would have 5 or 6
Teen dd would have 5
Ds10 would have 4
Ds 8 would have 3

StrikeItMucky · 17/11/2022 21:52

🤣🤣🤣🤣 love this but can't decide.

autienotnaughty · 17/11/2022 21:54

Child 2-3
Adult 3-4

Obviouslyanamechange1 · 17/11/2022 21:57

OP what a great post. I had 8 fish fingers earlier and was also wondering what a normal adult portion would be. I refuse to believe anything less than 6 is acceptable. I could honestly eat a full packet in one go. I actually took a photo of my dinner tonight because it was particularly amazing, I’ll drop it below. It was one of my greatest meals and I’ll probably have it again tomorrow

(photo was taken before a big dollop of ketchup)

What’s an adult size portion of fish fingers??
