With chips and beans I’d have 3 and I’m both overweight and a bit piggy.

anymore is massively greedy.

3 is ok but 4 is massively greedy. What size of fish fingers are you talking 😂

knittingaddict · 17/11/2022 20:53

3 or 4 depending on size. We buy the Youngs chunky haddock ones and 3 are plenty in a fish finger sandwich.

WindyHedges · 17/11/2022 20:54

With mayonnaise and peas.

Honeynutcheerios · 17/11/2022 20:54

Do people on here also only have 30g of cereal?

Twokidsanddone · 17/11/2022 20:56

DP says "as many as you can fit on the plate with the chips and beans". I say 4 or 5. But I think he should make our dinner tomorrow..

redbigbananafeet · 17/11/2022 20:56

LisaLovedUp do you think mangos taste like chips? What do you think carbs are and what do you think they taste like?

I measured it out once😂
Hope everyone is measuring out thier chips as well.
Random selection of chips.
Some McCains have 110g, some asda has 125g, Albert something 100g.
Don't forget portion of peas is 80g....

Pandor · 17/11/2022 21:00

Adult male - I eat 4 (either in a sandwich or with chips and peas)

lljkk · 17/11/2022 21:03

DS is a all-consuming 25 miles cycling/day rapidly growing 55 kg teen & eats ... 4. 1 or 2 is a child portion.

I am presuming there are other things on the plate. Giant pile of veg, giant pile of chips, sauce, starters, pudding...

No one’s having a go haha.
My mum thinks I’m the fattest bitch in the world.
But as a previous poster has pointed out, she’s had her 3 fish fingers with a massive pile of chips and beans. I’ve had my 6 fish fingers with just a couple chips as I don’t really like chips that much and a spoon of beans. My mum loves making me feel bad about my body though!

I think thats a good point, I think people eating very small numbers with their chips are having a much higher carb count on the plate. Someone mentioned that they eat 2 because its the protein element but the protein amount in 2 fish fingers is very small. I dont eat a lot of carbs so would have a lot of the protein element of the meal with veg

slowquickstep · 17/11/2022 21:09

My DH would have the whole pack if he thought he could get away with it. He is allowed half a pack which is 5.

Windbeneathmybingowings · 17/11/2022 21:09

I don’t have 30g of cereal but I do only have two bricks if weetabix.

consider how much fish you get in one of those fillets, 3 fish fingers is about the equivalent so that’s what I judge ig on.

also potatoes are much cheaper than fish fingers so that’s a big consideration these days

RunLolaRun102 · 17/11/2022 21:10

4 for adults
2 for kids
But I usually serve with beans, veg and a potato waffle

A finger of fish is just enough to give the kids a treat...

Sorry should've said

A finger of fish is just enough until it's time to eat!

Although it's a finger of fudge 😂

Heldathunpoint2022 · 17/11/2022 21:13

Before I opened the thread I thought to myself 4.

Thelnebriati · 17/11/2022 21:14

A portion of fish is about 4-6 ounces cooked weight. So however many fish fingers that is.

bellac11 · 17/11/2022 21:16

Workinghardeveryday · 17/11/2022 20:23

@bellac11 what did I just say, now piccalilli!!!😬

Im going to start one of them government petitions against this

walkinthewoodstoday · 17/11/2022 21:17

One fish finger feeds 5,000. I read it in the Bible so that's the gospel truth.Grin

A portion size isn’t the cooked weight?

Mumoffairy · 17/11/2022 21:20

I dont eat them, but DS (8) eats 8 😲
Even DD (6) manages 4 and she eats barely anything.
I make them with salad though, not chips.
For balance 😃

RunLolaRun102 · 17/11/2022 21:18

I think it's with most chips, bit I have not checked all the packaging 😁
Let's be generous then and add 2 chips

maddiemookins16mum · 17/11/2022 21:21

I wouldn’t serve less than 5 to an adult.

"Allowed"? Can't he make his own decision about how much he eats?
