4 fish fingers = 440 calories, 1/3 of a normal adult female caloric daily intake, I’d say you are overeating.
Unless you all work at the docks”

what? On what planet is the normal female daily calorific intake 1,320? I’d lose 3/4lb a week on that (nearly 60, 5ft 8)

Jealous Envy I'm on two meals a day (normal ones, not 30 fish fingers) Grin 5ft 10 and losing 0.5-1lb a week

Now now, @KettrickenSmiled - maybe the cats have leftovers too which are then shared between the goldfish in an act of cannibalism. I can’t see how two cats could possibly finish the leftovers from all that food between them.

You must be my neighbour and have been spying through my window! How did you know about the goldfish. Oh and while you are here, can you stop parking on my driveway and stop using your washing machine at the ungodly hour of 8am? Thanks.

Mentalpiece · 17/11/2022 19:33

The Mumsnet way is to just eat a couple of the breadcrumbs off the fishfinger, or even nibble a corner off if you're ravenous?
Anything more is gluttony surely??
😁

I think just looking at the box is filling enough. In the supermarket though; you’d never want to be seen dead actually buying a box (especially not the 20 box)

Blowyourowntrumpet · 17/11/2022 19:34

4 or 5

Teenangels · 17/11/2022 19:34

My partner will eat 12, with beans.

12 in a sandwich but he does weight training.

Me 2-3

Well sainsburys fish fingers are 53 calories each and I had 6 which is a grand total of 300 odd calories.

Same as a fish fillet. Who's having a go at you?

dontcallmethatyoucunt · 17/11/2022 19:28

Caterpillars

😂😂😂

Excellent source of protein but has NOBODY counted the calories-per-caterpillar @dontcallmethatyoucunt ?

SD1978 · 17/11/2022 19:35

This is like the Mumsnet chicken that can last 5 days it's a wide eyed competition to say the least amount for an adult and be so terribly surprised that basically no one agrees with you......I'd say 4 (at least) and if you wanted a few more, probably a teenager, then I'd make them. They are tiny and shite, 2-3 is what a restraint feeds a toddler/ young child.

Week 1 just look at picture of box, Week 2 look at picture on box, Week 3 lick picture on box, Week 4 eat a crumb, Week 5 scream at a picture of yourself naked for 15 hours.

89redballoons · 17/11/2022 19:36

The best fish fingers are the Birds Eye chunky ones. One of those is a child portion and two is an adult portion.

sorry 🥴
would (and have) though. The idea that the “normal calorific intake for an adult woman is around 1,300 is nuts. Can only assume the poster I was replying to has Bering doing that for a long time and messed up their metabolism.

stick with it! Half a pound is half a pound. That’s another, what, 4 or 5 by Christmas?

Made me lol

Needmorelego · 17/11/2022 19:37

@Mentalpiece my (mentioned upthread) child who doesn't like the smell of fish did used to eat fish fingers as a toddler.
She would hold one with both hands and delicately nibble on it like a squirrel.
Very Mumsnet indeed 🤣

Mulhollandmagoo · 17/11/2022 19:38

I'd have 4 with chips and beans I think

redbigbananafeet · 17/11/2022 19:38

StaunchMomma · 17/11/2022 19:27

I have 3 and I'm a bat fastard!

9 year old also has 3, DH has 4.

Then your 9 year old must be fucking massive.

Crackof · 17/11/2022 19:34

No one’s having a go haha.
My mum thinks I’m the fattest bitch in the world.
But as a previous poster has pointed out, she’s had her 3 fish fingers with a massive pile of chips and beans. I’ve had my 6 fish fingers with just a couple chips as I don’t really like chips that much and a spoon of beans. My mum loves making me feel bad about my body though!

Oysterbabe · 17/11/2022 19:38

Honestly as an adult I wouldn't eat fish fingers for a main meal, I consider them kid's food, same as chicken nuggets. If I did I think I'd have 4.

DWMoosmum · 17/11/2022 19:39

I'd have 2, I have a small appetite, however my skinny 11 year old would happily eat 4 with chips and peas.

Hobbitfeet32 · 17/11/2022 19:40

I’d have 4 but with chips and some kind of veg or beans. I’m a healthy weight and exercise lots. Portion sizes of 2 fish fingers or equivalent would cause me to lose weight. I give 3 to my 8 and 10 yr olds but they would probably eat more too.

Teaandcrumpets95 · 17/11/2022 19:41

4- that way I get 3 portions out of a pack of 12

Winterfires · 17/11/2022 19:41

redbigbananafeet · 17/11/2022 19:38

I’m sure most 9 year olds could eat 3 without teetering on morbid obesity

PeloFondo · 17/11/2022 19:42

Oh and fish finger wise I would have 4 with lots of veg or in a sandwich (eat 3.5 and give the half to the cat) Grin
Sausages I have 2-3

Sounds like having a go tbh. Not cool anyway.

Oh OP! Flowers
Tell your mum you will now only eat 5 fish fingers.
Because you will be shoving the 6th up her arse.

Still frozen, for easier insertion.
