What’s something you’ve done this week/month that no one knows about?

Today I stood outside of KFC and enjoyed a fillet burger after my 1 hour gym session! I didn’t bother bringing it home for DP to see as I already had a Starbucks frappe and a slice of cake this afternoon😂

What’s your secret of the week/month?

CheesyBeans1 · 16/11/2022 00:21

I did the opposite, I had my first counselling session. I announced it to family members and asked for a lift. I told them I need it under my belt to start training as a counsellor. I didn't tell them I have a bunch of other stuff to unpack too.

Told my partner I was going to head to the gym on an unexpected morning off work. Actually just lay on the sofa, binge-watching trashy tv and then had a lunchtime nap.

I do this at least once a month hehe 😉

youcantry · 16/11/2022 00:24

Took a young homeless man in and got him back to his family. Spoke to him and his mum today. All good. I'm so delighted.

Mariposista · 16/11/2022 00:27

My wonderful 91 year old gran is on end of life care.
I have been going to the gym when it opens at 6am before anyone else is awake. It gives me the strength and energy to face the day but I am worried of being told ‘how can you think about working out right now’?

Apart from DH knowing, we found out we're expecting our 4th baby

Congratulations! Soon to be ‘TheMumLife4!’

Sent all the info to the celebrant who will be conducting our wedding in a few weeks time.
Only me, DP and the celebrant know about this (and all of you now!).

Congratulations to you too!

I gave myself my hormone 💉 in the loo at rehearsal tonight for our IVF cycle ✨

Abstained from alcohol for a week. No one knows I had a problem.

Well done @XenoBitch that’s amazing! I’m sure the first few days are the toughest but you’ve done so well. Take it one day at a time❤️

I had an embryo implanted last Wednesday. Everybody thinks we are starting next month but after our last loss, I just wanted to keep this attempt a secret. Fingers crossed it works.

NameChange329435 · 16/11/2022 00:35

H is terrible with money. I have savings. I want to get out garden done for DC, it's costing nearly £5k. I told him my parents are paying for it.

AnxietyIsMyShadow · 15/11/2022 23:20

considered running away from OH and 2 kids as I am seriously struggling to cope with our toddlers behaviour and having massive anxiety issues (well I always have done and at the moment it’s about DD and I am pretty certain it’s actually me that’s the biggest problem in her life and maybe I should for once do the right thing and fuck off to make sure they’re not scarred having a mum like me)
I have also eaten a share size bag of Cadburys Giant Buttons in my despair. They’re my DS’s treat. I will replace them tomorrow. Again.

I’m sorry to hear about your situation. I can seriously empathise as I have two under 18 months and a few months ago I was suicidal. My youngest has a rare genetic disorder and constantly has 1000 hospital appointments. I also thought about running away literally everyday until I spoke to the GP who put me on antidepressants.

Could that be an option for you to reach out to your GP to get some support for your mental health? I never thought it’d help and never wanted to take tablets but life genuinely feels so much easier and I feel as if I can cope so much better. I’m sure you’re a wonderful mum and your kids are lucky to have you. Please take care of yourself xx

@Bathtubbathing
One meal a day fasting.

I realise that will sound like an ED to the uninitiated but fasting is so good for you, reduces risk of cancer, dementia, diabetes, etc, etc.

My one meal is around 2k calories too.

I have asd and am very rule bound so it works well for me. I'll keep on it until I get bored but I expect my weight to stabilise now given the high food intake.

Lost half a stone but the only people I've met haven't seen me for ages so didn't notice.

It is pretty much all I needed to lose, but it's been on for years (lockdown comfort eating) and I just couldn't get motivated to get it off and have been berating myself for my laziness for at least 2 years. Took 18 days ffs 😂

Now to buy a new wardrobe 😊

18 days???? You’re lying?! What did you do😂 I’m currently on the ‘loose 3 stone in 3 months’ thread for support and I can keep motivated with my weight loss. What’s your secret? Did you eat better/do a certain work out/calorie deficit etc

I'm 9 weeks pregnant and no-one knows. Every day this week and last I've been so hungry I've secretly ate my lunch at my desk at around 10am when the office is empty, got rid of all the evidence, then had a second lunch at a 'normal' lunchtime with everyone else.

😂 I love this. Sounds like something I would have done. Congratulations!

I really really hate my job. To the point that it has made me physically ill.
So I applied for some other jobs and have this week accepted an offer and signed the contract.

Great news:)

I ate 3 bags of skips in a row earlier and the only witness was my baby thankfully. Also when I say ate, I practically inhaled them. Took every ounce of strength not to eat a 4th

Hahaha😂😂😂 this was me today with Niknaks. I literally ate four back to back whilst my 7 month old just stared at me. Whoops. Skips are lovely though so I don’t blame you. I love the way it just melts in your mouth yum!

I always do that, @LucyFox Windscreen wipers as well. I wish I could find someone who would blow up the tyres for me. I always seem to let them down. Actually I did pay someone at the garage to do that once. He was doing his own and I told him I'd give him £10 to do mine. He did and we are both happy!

If you can afford £45 this is brilliant www.argos.co.uk/product/8814401
They don't hold enough charge to pump up four flat tyres, but more than enough to top up - mine paid for itself quite quickly rather than paying at the petrol station.

Well. Some people do know this but mostly I've not told anyone in real life as they don't understand the significance

Today I did my 100 hour as a counsellor. This means I'm fully done with my counselling course and will get a BACP accredited certificate soon.

Not bad for a girl who left school before A levels

Oh and I've started a 3 year course to become a psychotherapist....

Oh wow that’s amazing, congratulations! If you don’t mind me asking, how did you manage that with no A Levels (and no degree I’m presuming?) I also have no A Levels as I dropped out so sometimes I wonder what my future career would look like with little to no qualifications

😂 It was actually closer to 12 but then went up with my period before coming back down. Sure plenty was waterweight.

I can't do deprivation for any length of time so no calorie defecite, and exercise makes me hungry! I'm a really emotional eater so find it easier to do for the health benefits rather than just to be thinner.

I firmly believe everyone is unique though so you have to experiment to see what works for you. Good luck on your journey.

@DoodlePug oh sorry I’ve just seen this comment on how you lost half a stone. One meal a day, wow! That is really disciplined. Great to hear you’re still getting your daily calorie amount but I guess it means no time for snacking or anything so that’s how you’ve lost the weight. Well done I’m so jealous. My kids drive me to eat a packet of crisps at 10am so that’s never work for me😂

Abstained from alcohol for a week. No one knows I had a problem.

Well Done!!

I'm hoping this will be me in a week's time.
Today is my first day with no alcohol in a few years.. I've been drinking a lot everyday.

I know it's going to be incredibly hard but I did give up for about 10 years before.

ApplesNeverFall · 16/11/2022 00:52

Okay mine hasn't happened yet but in a few days' time I have an appointment with a psychiatrist where I will (hopefully!) be diagnosed with ADHD. It's been a long time coming. No one knows, and I think I've made a good enough effort at masking my struggles that my colleagues and (most) family members will be shocked.

This sounds so difficult. It's great to hear that you were able to get the help you needed ♥️

Gronkle · 16/11/2022 00:55

Ate a bag of peanuts, I absolutely love peanuts but I'm allergic to them. It's not a respiratory, death inducing allergy but it's an oral allergy which has developed later in life, linked to hay fever. Basically I cough like crazy, have a little trouble breathing and have terrible diarrhoea the next day. ( know I'm an idiot), I promised DH and DC that I wouldn't eat them again. I was so so ill that I've now promised myself I won't eat them again.
Boy will I miss those salty balls of loveliness!
