AIBU or will the popularity of the RF drop like a lead balloon if they keep on doing this?

If my brother had done what he's allegedly done, I would be NC with him.

Fun fact the man who was alleged to have molested my daughter was allowed to break bail conditions with the rest of his familys children they allowed him to be bailed to his mums address and she took him to visit relatives they had parties all with children around they all rallied around him paid for everything supported him etc etc etc

Then when he was accused of raping a woman they did the same plus they harassed her and pressured her landlord to evict her (which he did) then when she tried to move on they made many MANY malicious reports about her drinking to children's services she is now never getting her children returned to her (which might be a good thing but they certainly turned the knife)

family's rarely support the victims

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 13/11/2022 17:06

Do people really not know what a paedophile is?

It's someone who os sexually attracted to pre-pubescent children. Note the 'pre-pubescent.' Whatever the truth of PA and Guiffre, she was 17.

LondonWolf · 13/11/2022 17:08

Yes, alleged. You'd cut off your own sibling for unproven allegations against him? I wouldn't and I don't think you're as good and moral a person as you seem to think you are.

jetadore · 13/11/2022 17:08

Will RF’s popularity drop? Have you already forgotten all the threads when the queen died? So much forelock tugging you worry for some posters hairlines. People in this country love the royals. I honestly wonder what they could be found to be doing that would be “too much”, clearly shagging 16 year olds is ok, maybe eating babies? They could probably even excuse that away if the babies were foreign or something.

CoalCraft · 13/11/2022 17:12

DD1 was 20 months when DD2 was born and we continued her 4-day nursery schedule. She loves it there and it meant she could have a fun, stimulating day while I could also have a reasonably relaxing day with the baby. If you can afford it then go for it.

derxa · 13/11/2022 17:13

OP where is your link? All I've read is that Charles has cut Andrew off from public life and Andrew and Fergie have donated fruit and vegetables to 'impoverished families' 🙄

CoalCraft · 13/11/2022 17:13

Goddamit, wrong thread. No idea how this keeps happening.

Prescottdanni123 · 13/11/2022 17:21

@Rippled

They couldn't have had Andrew there for obvious reasons and Harry has made his choice.

JimDixon · 13/11/2022 17:21

Try putting the following royals in order of how much you like/rate them:

  1. Andrew
  2. Harry
  3. Meghan

That would be the order I'd put them :).

At least Andrew has a notion of public service and was nice to his dear old Ma'am.

Absolutely I dont know why people keep throwing this word around completely out of context, its ignorant and completely undermines it.

Just saying it is somewhat ironic

Zone2NorthLondon · 13/11/2022 17:24

Frankly I’d get rid of the lot of them, their dysfunctional behaviour, the inward looking firm and it’s unearned privilege
However I fear the majority are prone to sentimentality with a fair measure of deference, with a side order of oh gawd blimey and God save the King.
As this thread attests, there are those who get incandescent at mere mention of Harry & Meghan but have nothing to say regard Andrew and his association with a convicted paedo rapist
Too many people are too deferential to a hereditary monarch and seem to enjoy passively being subjects in exchange for some walkabouts and a gawdy funeral to ohh and ahh at

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 13/11/2022 17:26

If I recall correctly, the term for an adult who is sexually attracted to teenagers is hebephilia, whilst an attraction to pre-pubescent children is paedophilia.

But no matter what it is called, it is unacceptable. I cannot imagine welcoming a sexual predator back into my home or family. I did understand the RF making PA part of things following the death of the Queen - she was his mother, and even though I didn’t like it, I understood it. But now they should be making it crystal clear to him that he will never have any public role going forward.

The Kray boys they loved their mutha. Considered themselves to maintain public order in east end for the residents
Lovin your dear ole mutha isn’t in itself a mark of good character or good behaviour
As Andrew surely is an example. Loves his mutha. That Doesn’t in anyway see his subsequent behaviour acceptable

Emotionalsupportviper · 13/11/2022 17:30

I'd rather have M&H as family members than the sweaty nonce any day.

Seconded @LakieLady

birder · 13/11/2022 17:31

Zone2 sorry, I need to correct your spelling, it's muvva.

Pinkcadillac · 13/11/2022 17:32

Why would someone make something up about the Royal Family and then disappear? is this the definition of trolling?

Paying hush money is not at all admission of guilt

Yes because so many innocent victims send up paying out those kinds of sums

It would have been far more damaging for the Queen and the RF if it went to trial.

What does that tell you 🤪

Because sometimes, just sometimes, it’s a better option to settle a claim than have it play out in court. Yes, it does mean false accusations will be made, as seen by Virginia Giuffre’s admission of false accusations this week, but it’s a whole more than an admission of guilt.

Close - it's ephebophilia.

But you are right - it's disgusting! He had daughters around the same age ffs!

SkeetyLola · 13/11/2022 16:00

No one really cares. He’s never been particularly visible so most people won’t notice one way or another. Let’s be real Meghan and Harry and the Queen dying have been far worse for the Royal family than seedy Andrew

A man marrying an actress has been worse for the royal family than a bankrolled pervert who has to pay off teens he sleeps with? Why?

Kanaloa · 13/11/2022 17:37

Although the way I see it I think they should have Andrew at public events with the family. At least it would be honest. Brushing him away while he continues his life of luxury is like pretending they don’t condone it. I’d rather they were honest and admitted they don’t care.

CheeseIsMyPatronus · 13/11/2022 17:40

Nonsense, OP, he's not back in the fold. He's excluded from public events.

Yes, I would be interested to know this too?

SkeetyLola · 13/11/2022 17:45

@Melonapplepear

Because Barry and Meghan are constantly in the news trashing the royals. Andrew whatever he has or hasn’t done, rarely get publicity, talks to the media and most people under 40 wouldn’t recognise him.
