Uber stealing Asda orders

Sereyah · 12/11/2022 09:38

I’ve had a terrible time ringing around this morning as I ordered from Asda online and Uber are stating they delivered my order an hour ago. They didn’t and I’ve searched the whole property (70,00 order and 8.50 delivery fee). All stuck isolating and I have cigarettes in there which have to use I.d. For so they have to knock for my date of birth. I’m so annoyed as I’ve used most of my funds with me not getting paid until next Friday. They are now stating I have to wait 24-48 hrs to hear from someone and that’s before I even get to have them refund me. It’s unfair as I won’t be refunded until next Wednesday-Friday and don’t have the spare cash but that’s if they refund me; they are refusing at the moment. I’ve looked on Facebook and it’s a common pattern with Uber drivers stating they have delivered orders or have kept part of the orders stating the full delivery

@parlourb Just as irrelevant as what you’re spouting 😊

@xogossipgirlxo Because they’ll get away with it a few times before Uber catches on and blocks them.

Obviously they shouldn’t be stealing orders but if you can afford to buy cigarettes, you can afford to lose it. You were literally going to set fire to that money anyway so it’s nothing critical, is it?

Found the thief

MrsSkylerWhite · 14/11/2022 10:19

I’m probably missing something but why can’t you just do an online Asda shop? They deliver 🤷‍♀️

Sereyah · 13/11/2022 21:44

Payment went through asda but they use Uber for delivery

In that case I would contact asda. if you get no joy tweet them. also contact your bank and ask for a charge back.

Elderemo · 14/11/2022 10:52

Uber are a nightmare. We started using them at work recently for deliveries, I've met one nice driver so far. He told me to make sure they're confirming they've collected the order in front of us as a lot of them won't press that button, take the food and then drop the job as if they never picked it up.

Waited over an hour for one yesterday, accepted the job then picked up from the local maccies 3 times before he came to us. No option for us to get another driver, we just had to wait.

Hope you get it sorted OP.

Why did you order such a big shop from Uber in the first place? You realise they inflate the prices of the products on there?

It would have been cheaper, both on delivery fee and all individual items, to order same day delivery from Asda.

Unfortunately all you can do is wait and see if they refund.

This is the exact reason I didn't use deliveroo when I had Covid. Prices hiked up compared to normal shop delivery

frazzledasarock · 14/11/2022 10:55

I never ever order through Uber after they delivered half an order for a takeaway on Ubereats and refused to refund me for the missing order.

I now get 40% off offers but I won’t use them as they don’t deliver and don’t refund.

Sereyah · 14/11/2022 11:03

Thank you for all the comments. Asda are still refusing to refund me as they claim because uber has marked as delivered then that’s that. I’ve emailed through to them as they kept saying they had raised it to a specialist team but then admitted it had never been done. My bank are handling it now as a disputed transaction. In future I’ll just order from Tesco or sainsburys. I thought by putting it through asdas direct website it was safe, I’ll avoid express checkout if I use them in future then it can be delivered by Asda drivers. Really not worth the 8.50 delivery charge but it was all that was available. Luckily a family member went to good old aldi for me(way cheaper but no delivery service in our area)

Also for those commenting about my smoking. My smoking is kept to a minimum and is my only vice. Having children with additional needs I do like to have a 5 minute breather outside with a cigarette. I don’t really drink or leave the house to socialise. It’s something that helps me with the stress of everyday life, other wise I would be stressed out near my children and I would rather smoke outside for 5 minutes when times are hard then be stressed out anywhere near them.

Nothing I said was wrong.

When you order from Asda via the Uber app, the prices are inflated, and if Uber takes the payment, they are the ones that need to deal with it as Asda cannot do anything in that circumstance.

Just go away , stop posting
That is incorrect
You keep prattling on when you're wrong and no one is interested.

Yea it's shocking as it is an Asda order and it was not delivered
Can you go through the whole order in the app and mark each item missing?

Asda are still responsible as they are using Uber as their delivery service who sailed to deliver

Hope you have better luck with your bank

YellowTreeHouse · 14/11/2022 11:33

@Tiani4 You realise that’s not how life works, right? You can’t just tell someone to go away because you don’t like what they’re saying.

Nothing I said is factually incorrect. It may not be how OP ordered and that’s fine but what I have stated is still correct, that prides are inflated if you order on the Uber app and that if payment is taken by Uber Asda cannot refund.

@Sereyah Good luck, OP. Hope you get it sorted.

EddyF · 14/11/2022 12:10

Comprehension is really not a strong point for some people. Mumsnet has changed beyond recognition.

YellowTreeHouse: how many fucking times do you have to be told you are incorrect? READ the OP’s post over and over again until you get it. Even better, don’t reply because you’re not helping the OP.

OP, you are going to have to blast them on Twitter; it’s the only way I ever get results from an issue with companies.

YellowTreeHouse · 14/11/2022 12:12

@EddyF Nothing I said is incorrect.

I am aware this is not how OP ordered, but that does not change the fact that Uber prices are inflated and they handle payment issues when ordered from them.

You could have just said oops got wrong end of the stick sorry but instead you doubled or more like quadrupled down and insisted you are still right on a technicality. It's ok to admit being wrong you know.

Zebedee55 · 14/11/2022 12:27

If it's any help for the future, Tesco do a "`whoosh" delivery service, which is same day. I've always found it fine. 🙂

beetr00 · 14/11/2022 12:40

@Sereyah

Try Dm to their twitter a/c, they're usually quite responsive. I'm surprised by Asda tbh, their cs is usually excellent. Good luck

Yep, my £60 ASDA shop was stolen by UBER yesterday

BosaNova · 14/11/2022 12:43

Fuking hell.

Guys, honestly, check out that amazon fresh and Ocado. Tesco as well, but I think ocado can workout cheaper. Swift and reliable

It is okay to admit to being wrong when you’re wrong, yes. But everything I said is factually correct.

😂 Except your first post where you assume she had ordered from Uber eats and then refuse to back down to the bitter end. Are you always this stubborn or do you just save it for Mumsnet ?

BosaNova · 14/11/2022 17:40

@parlourb tbf Yellow wasn't the only one there. I thought it was via uber too. I am sure we weren't the only ones.
But we back doen when finding out😂

Exactly! 😂 I only knew straight away that it was Asda online and Uber delivering it as I did the same last Friday. Paid the £8.50 and it was Uber that turned up . It's the arguing your point when you're wrong and not backing down that gets me 🤣

Dannywtt · 16/02/2024 09:29

Cardiff bay Asda. After having my shopping stolen two…After having my shopping stolen two weeks in a row by the delivery driver I phoned customer service for a refund and I was told it would be in my bank in 5 working days. It's been 6 days now and no money has been refunded. So now I have to waste more of my time speaking to someone in a far away country to try and sort this out. Please do not use Asda they do not care about their customers or who they use to deliver your food.

Shamaa · 22/09/2024 10:26

This happened to me on Friday, nobody taking responsibility about it
