Uber stealing Asda orders

Sereyah · 12/11/2022 09:38

I’ve had a terrible time ringing around this morning as I ordered from Asda online and Uber are stating they delivered my order an hour ago. They didn’t and I’ve searched the whole property (70,00 order and 8.50 delivery fee). All stuck isolating and I have cigarettes in there which have to use I.d. For so they have to knock for my date of birth. I’m so annoyed as I’ve used most of my funds with me not getting paid until next Friday. They are now stating I have to wait 24-48 hrs to hear from someone and that’s before I even get to have them refund me. It’s unfair as I won’t be refunded until next Wednesday-Friday and don’t have the spare cash but that’s if they refund me; they are refusing at the moment. I’ve looked on Facebook and it’s a common pattern with Uber drivers stating they have delivered orders or have kept part of the orders stating the full delivery

Too late now, but next time, create an account with Asda themselves and go through them direct. Delivery slots are between £1 and £5 depending on the time of the day, and you can order up to 11PM on the previous day for a delivery from 7AM onwards. Slots are picked by the hour.

Granted nothing is perfect and you will get the odd mistakes, missing item or substituted item, but you can either accept or return subbed items, and anything missing is always refunded. Asda's own customer service is responsive and effective in my opinion.

SpinningFloppa · 12/11/2022 17:25

Asda just as bad they didn’t deliver my £100 shop the other day and I waited a week for a refund!

Armychefbethebest · 12/11/2022 17:35

YellowTreeHouse · 12/11/2022 09:48

Why did you order such a big shop from Uber in the first place? You realise they inflate the prices of the products on there?

It would have been cheaper, both on delivery fee and all individual items, to order same day delivery from Asda.

Unfortunately all you can do is wait and see if they refund.

She did order from asda.when ordering a same day delivery the delivery is fulfilled by user after a asda picker and packer does the order. Yes its 8.50 but in our case its the same price as a taxi there and back without actually leaving the house.

They probs just didn't have anything in stock😂 my local one is abysmal
Sorry. It shouldn't take a week fgs. It's 2022, payments go within day, they should take day back

If you are within amazon delivery, they are 100% better. I checked and if I order now I can still get it for 3.99 between 9pm and 11pm today on order under £40.

Just for future if anyone needs shopping, check them (I don't work for them ha) because ASDA is unreliable on stock lately and in combination with overpriced Uber it's just a disaster. It's also NOT one of the cheapest anymore.

NewNovember · 12/11/2022 12:02

@Tyrozet morrisons via amazon is the same price as their own website.

I've never had delivery from the Morrisons website but the Amazon prices seemed really high compared to in-store prices and other supermarkets, so I thought they were maybe bumped up due to going through a third party.

I wouldn't use anything like that unless I was in a pinch though!

BosaNova · 12/11/2022 19:49

Depends what you buying but amazon Fresh free range eggs large are 2.35 vs 2.45 asda. Own butter salted 1.99 vs 2.15 asda. They also have near the end date section i picked up half price meat.

Some thing are the pricier range like some tins etc, but for emergency or certain shopping it's good. Not inflated, on par with others.

I think I thought Morrisons on amazon was bit up but that was, from what I saw, because they don't put offers from store onto the amazon section?

HypaHypa · 12/11/2022 19:57

If there isn't enough money left you can use Klarna for Asda.

Also, to weigh in on the cigarettes thing, have you tried a vape? Much, much cheaper.

It sounds like it was Asda same day delivery. Express order £8.50 delivery fee , I did this on Friday and Uber delivered it .

Tiani4 · 13/11/2022 18:47

OP doesn't need to be told to buy capes or cheaper cigs
She budgeted and ordered in asda app but using Uber as they'd same day delivery agent

They did not deliver and recorded that they did

Sue is now out of pocket and waiting for refund and has EVERY right to be annoyed as that Uber delivery person LIED

He had her details and would have needed to see her ID for DOB to deliver it

It is such a fallacy that others are perpetuating that this is anything other than theft

I hope you get refunded quickly OP

Tiani4 · 13/11/2022 18:51

So her complaint is both with Uber and with asda

Uber are a delivery partner and if they fail to deliver they Gould be held to same standards and immediate refund as asda holds itself to

YellowTreeHouse · 13/11/2022 18:53

@Tiani4 Nothing to do with Asda if the payment went through Uber.

I ordered through Asda and they have an express checkout option for higher delivery but it’s delivered through Uber

Payment went through asda but they use Uber for delivery

CrackersDontMatter · 13/11/2022 21:53

Along with the £3.99 same day delivery, Asda have EXPRESS as a delivery option where you can sometimes get your shopping within an hour - same Asda website and prices but the delivery costs £8.50 and it comes in an uber. Extortionate but I've had to use it in a pinch before as I suspect the OP has too. All of this to-ing and fro-ing over it just misses the point which is that OP's shopping has been stolen.

OP I would tweet them, they are usually very prompt replying.

Spoodee · 13/11/2022 22:02

I constantly have 40% off groceries at under eats, so takes it to below normal Asda prices.

parlourb · 14/11/2022 01:47

Hopefully @YellowTreeHouse will now accept they're wrong now that op has cleared it up ! Op hope you get your refund sorted soon

Yes. Yellow was being very annoying as they were repeatedly told they had misunderstood and exactly how it had been ordered!- but kept bleating on trying to (in)correct others.

All of which has unnecessarily taken over the point that OPs shopping was stolen

BosaNova · 14/11/2022 08:40

Just out of curiousity bop, how much would the delivery be if you ordered via uber? I got asda 5 min walk and delivery is 0.29.
Just curious

YellowTreeHouse · 14/11/2022 08:53

Nothing I said was wrong.

When you order from Asda via the Uber app, the prices are inflated, and if Uber takes the payment, they are the ones that need to deal with it as Asda cannot do anything in that circumstance.

Are you being serious ? You have been told multiple times and now by op that she ordered and paid with Asda. Uber delivered , which they do for the express orders . If you can't add anything useful I suggest you leave the thread.

I know what OP said. It still doesn’t change anything I said as my information is factually correct.

You can suggest we bake pies on the moon if you like but I don’t think you’ll get very far with that either.

BosaNova · 14/11/2022 10:03

Are you now just arguing that because it sounded like order via uber rather than deliveroo at the begining, you were correct. Because theoretically yeah. That is right.

But now it has changed. It's via asda

parlourb · 14/11/2022 10:08

@YellowTreeHouse yes just a suggestion, if you want to stay here prattling irrelevant nonsense that's entirely up to you :)

xogossipgirlxo · 14/11/2022 10:11

It makes me wonder, why uber delivery drivers think they'll get away with stealing someone's order? Surely, they need to pay back or there are other consequences. Or am I this naive? 🙄
