AWFUL NAMES TO CALL YOU CHILD...

Justine888 · 29/01/2008 16:24

I dont think there's anything people get more worked up over something that is none of their business than what someone has or wants to call their child.
With this in mind, I thought it might be fun for people to nominate some really bad names they've heard friends or relatives have given to these poor little children.... Whats the worst you've ever heard?
Who knows... this page might be inspiration for some pregnant ladies out there!
Have fun!

Your cupcakes came out a bit wonky, innit?

DumbledoresGirl · 29/01/2008 16:49

I think the really funny names are those that are chosen without regard to the surname. I was at school with someone called Chris Cross.

I suppose maybe that was not his birth name but.....

About 10 years ago I read a letter in a woman's magazine from a woman boasting about her daughter's unusual names. I can still remember them now, they were:

Jordanna-Rikki,
Delaney-Tori, and
Taylor-Jade.

Surr3ymummy · 29/01/2008 16:53

I met a woman called Chris once, she told me she was getting married, and wasn't sure whether to adopt her husband's surname, which was Mistry! Very festive....

devonsmummy · 29/01/2008 16:55

I've posted this before (groundhog day for sure)

A couple wanted to register their daughter "silly cow" in Hackney. My friend was registering her ds at the time.

They were not allowed.

PortAndLemon · 29/01/2008 16:56

If that's the Scotland names list for 2007, ISTR that there were not one but two boys named Kal-El born last year. And girls named Possum and Sister.

Blu · 29/01/2008 16:56

Abishagsmummy - Is your dd's middle name Alice, and your surname 'Biggin'?

Abishag A Biggin?

Cos if so I think she's at school with my DS...

MoreSpamThanGlam · 29/01/2008 16:57

Squonky Shit-Bucket (with a silent T)

HalleBerrysBikini · 29/01/2008 16:57

Dumbledore, sorry for making you spell it out but is your son's name Jordan? If it is then it Katie Price's fault that is has become chavvy, it wasn't before that.

mustrunmore · 29/01/2008 16:59

Hurray, no-one's mentioned the ds's names yet

MrsPuddleduck · 29/01/2008 16:59

I once had a colleage called Teresa Green and then had clients (unmarried obviously) called Mr Swan and Miss Lake.

HalleBerrysBikini · 29/01/2008 17:00

My friend's Mum is Sandy Pitt

NorthernLurker · 29/01/2008 17:02

I know a midwife who swears she had to talk parents out of calling their child 'Chlamydia' - they were appparently heard to say "we thought it sounded pretty"
