AIBU to think this is not tat

Recently purchased this rather gorgeous glass and metal pineapple from our local charity shop. I love it, but DH thinks it's ugly tat. Obviously he's wrong and has no appreciation for it's beauty. Maybe you lovely MN'ers can settle this argument for me.

When I first saw it, I thought “tat” but then it started to grow on me a bit, the more pics you posted. Then, with the lights in it, it was totally transformed - looks really good. Wouldn’t have it myself, though - the colour of the leaves wouldn’t match my decor, (if they were gold or bronze, maybe), but it’s certainly grown on me 😂. Now the Buddha- that’s in a tat league of its own, and I like Buddhas 😂😂😂…

It has potential! I would go to Wilko and buy a gold spray aerosol paint to get rid of the blue, then sit it next to some bottles of gin, rum etc, some gold cocktail accessories, pineapple stirrers and some fine battery lights and voila!

What's wrong with tat? As tat goes that's fabulous. If it's an ice bucket (and it should be) it's a little bit Hollywood Regency.

It's tat but kind of interesting tat. I'd be too worried about the swinger thing though, so it wouldn't get a place in my house.

It's lovely - sort of 1950s style cocktail bar item. My Aunt who lived in Paris had one like that on her bar in the 1960s when I was a kid, I would put a string of those tiny white fairy lights that work off a battery inside the jar bit. Lovely.
