As above WhatsApp not working. Has it affected you yet?

I'd sent a message to someone but hadn't noticed it hadn't been received until I saw this thread.

Or she's blocked me.

SavoirFlair · 25/10/2022 09:27

YABVU. This is not the Chat forum.

what is your “AIBU” question?

Shlomping1234 · 25/10/2022 09:27

Yes! I thought it was just me. My mother is in hospital and she's trying to video call me 😔

ChakaKhanfan · 25/10/2022 09:27

No I never noticed 🤷🏻‍♀️

notawittyname1954 · 25/10/2022 09:28

Yes would definitely miss it. Use it a lot.

thelobsterquadrille · 25/10/2022 09:28

It's convenient but I wouldn't miss it, really. I only talk to one or two people on there but I could just as easily text.

madnesss · 25/10/2022 09:28

I don't have it so it makes no odds to me.

SavoirFlair · 25/10/2022 09:29

I mean what is this.. some sort of mini census of WhatsApp users?

the inanity of this thread … @dottypotter i can’t be clear enough, YABU.

Myeyeballsareonfire · 25/10/2022 09:30

I don’t really know the difference between WhatsApp and just texting m. Is there a distinct difference?

(I do use WhatsAppbut only as it seems to be what we all use in my circle)

5foot5 · 25/10/2022 09:30

Oh bum! I hadn't realised. I have sent some messages but hadn't noticed the absence of ticks.
Yes would definitely miss I use quite a lot. Main form of communication with family

HundredMilesAnHour · 25/10/2022 09:30

Yes I miss it. I use it a lot to keep in touch with friends, especially friends overseas. I could text instead but it'd cost a lot of money (or I'd have to reduce what I sent and/or how often).

Grumpy

Inthisissue · 25/10/2022 09:31

Massive difference between Whatsapp and texting in that you can't text a group!! I'd miss it massively, makes a huge difference to my life tbh

Swedishmeatball · 25/10/2022 09:32

It’s already caused chaos with our organising lifts to holiday sports club this morning!

Couldn't disagree more. If it wasn't for this thread I wouldn't have realised that my main form of messaging was interrupted

ShineOnYouLikeMorningStar · 25/10/2022 09:33

I've never used it. I don't think I even know what the WhatsApp icon/symbol looks like.

YellowAndGreenToBeSeen · 25/10/2022 09:33

I can text a group on my iPhone.

I hate being added to random WA groups and have so many on mute.

Frogsalad · 25/10/2022 09:33

Yes, I use it all day for work. Because I also use it on my laptop as well as my phone it makes life so much easier. Plus it means I've got proof I've instructed people or given people info and they can't claim they didn't know. It's a pain in the arse not being able to use it.

girlfriend44 · 25/10/2022 09:35

How strange just as some people have set up a mumsnet what's app group.

Well it seems to have drawn people’s attention to the fact that some messages they have sent, may have not been delivered, thus enabling them to text instead. That’s quite useful.

Allonboard · 25/10/2022 09:37

I like WhatsApp but wouldn't bother me if fb went down.

You can set up a list of several people to text as a group - I have one of my children. (iPhone). It seems to appear as a "group" on my list of text messages.

DorritLittle · 25/10/2022 09:37

I would miss it although I wouldn't miss the expectation by some of an immediate reply.

Also I wouldn't have known about it if it wasn't for this thread.

Wafflehouse · 25/10/2022 09:37

I noticed it was updating last night when I went to plug my phone in. No I wouldn’t miss it, I’m forever muting groups, I’ll check in when I need to but can’t stand all the chatter in parent groups, just stick to what’s needed to know about the activity. Breakaway groups should be set up for chat. Yes I am a grump.
