To hate the term woke?

I was reading a thread about a netball sponsorship debacle and someone posted an awesome tweet about people using the term "woke".

'Explain what you mean by Woke & then we can have the conversation'. Incredibly put by RakieAyola
This should be the response to every commentator, Journalist & MP who've become far too comfortable throwing the Term 'Woke' into every one of their dog whistle opinions

Does anyone else hate the term too? I only ever hear it used negatively on SM.

I have for the first time in my life used the term ‘woke’ to be derogatory.

I was very dismissive of anyone who said ‘PC gone mad’ in the past.

I am still a bit wary of people who say that anything ‘woke’ is bad.

However I’ve now encountered personally at least two safeguarding situations for kids where the danger came from teachers / staff and their parents who were so scared of ‘not being woke enough’ around trans gender issues that the let some seriously inappropriate material onto the kids school curriculum and in one case, let their teenager consider drugs for transitioning. Both to me are where being afraid of being cancelled led adults to let down children.

There is my line and to be honest the school and parents being ‘too woke’ fitted the danger in their attitudes. So I’d use it again.

I’m a bit cross that more liberal or lefty people don’t get this and so the right wing is taking it on. It’s a basic crossing the line issue for safeguarding kids.

It is a term invented by Marxists to create trouble. It has, just look at literature, where people are cancelled, students bullying and cancelling Professor Stock for example.

The word is annoying but I'm not a fan of the woke culture which to me is less about shining a light on issues and usually more a sort of virtual signalling nitpicking policing of people.

I don't like the term. It's used by right wingers as a cover for poor behaviour.

Black people prior to and during the civil rights movement were trouble-making Marxists?
