Charles Walker's interview is actual news. He may not have used the same word as KGM but he couldn't have been plainer about the state of the party and his views of some of his colleagues.

Shock horror: journalists are human beings, that actually have their own opinions! We're not supposed to hear them.

And we weren’t meant to hear that. If you were on a jury you’d be told to disregard it. Just do that.

Think @derxa had long shown they can’t take any bad word against the Tories.

If that’s what he thinks about them and is confident he’s off air then yes. What’s with the thought police act?

He wouldn't last long in Sturgeon's Scotland. The polis would be round as quick as you like. Grin

What if he'd said it about Liz Truss...Jess Phillips...Harriet harman? Ok?

We don't hear those opinions but we the electorate are manipulated by what so called impartial journalists fail to challenge. Listen to the easy ride certain tory mps are given when interviewed by LK and Nick Ferrari and the way they avoid others for fear of a proper grilling. So not so clear cut.

I can't wait for them to be gone.

It does always annoy me that the 'worst' swear word in the UK is linked to a womens genitals. And its such a harmless little sounding word really, like punt or blunt or hunt Wink

Exactly. Why is dick, cock or prick not considered the same?

Yes, he is entitled to his off air opinion.

In his house maybe

Another Tory has come out in support for him:

What he said about people being promoted simply because of their allegiance to a prime minister is absolutely correct. A major reason why this country has limped along in the last few years is the appallingly low calibre of people in the cabinet who owe their place there to being Brexit supporting Boris loving sycophants.

Notonthestairs · 19/10/2022 22:02

Charles Walker is stepping down at the next election. He's free to say what he believes in. Maria Caulfield is not (as far as I am aware) so kudos for standing with him.

Johnny Mercer, too.

Is no one shocked that both whips were resigning, then none? That the Tories were told it was a three line whip, voted for fracking (or, against against fracking) in order to keep the whip, and then it turns out that it was an open vote?!

Forget a hot mic incident. This is actual and real shit.

L1ttledrummergirl · 19/10/2022 22:07

My hitherto shit MP actually abstained. My first thought was fair play about bloody time, my second was why, what's in it for her?

I am pleased she didn't vote for fracking though.

Notonthestairs · 19/10/2022 22:08

Suspect Wendy Morton has had her Godfather moment - "Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in..."

Has the Chief Whip not resigned?

lifeissweet · 19/10/2022 22:09

Nope. As of about 10 minutes ago, announced to still be in post

lifeissweet · 19/10/2022 22:09

I'm wondering what she was bribed with/ threatened with to limit the damage.

Booklover3 · 19/10/2022 22:13

My shit Tory MP voted no and I’m completely unsurprised

FacebookPhotos · 19/10/2022 22:13

I bet the whip has been promised that Truss will be gone within a matter of days.

GreenLunchBox · 19/10/2022 22:13

Sky news saying they had verbally resigned but now have unresigned

Good thing there's nothing much else going on in the world 😂🍿
