The all encompassing anger he obviously feels towards the Tories and what they’ve done to our country, was something I feel so strongly too.

I found it so refreshing that someone in UK politics, who regardless of whether you agree with his politics or not is undeniably principled, has finally spoken out in this way

Ask anyone in the tourism accommodation industry in Wales at the moment what they think of Drakeford and you will get a very different response. single handedly destroying the holiday let market by insisting on 182 let or 3 times plus in council tax. many long standing business owners are distraught and have no idea how they are going to manage. and that is on him.

Awww bechod 😂😂😂

Wheresmywoolyjumpers · 19/10/2022 20:31

Dont know anything about Welsh politics but I kind of love him now.

StripeyDeckchair · 19/10/2022 21:35

He's a bloody hero for speaking out like that. I totally agree with him.

These Tories don't care about anyone or anything except themselves, they are an absolute f-ing disgrace.

Whatever your issues with the other political parties (and none of them are perfect) they must be able to do a better job than this lot.

KimberleyClark · 19/10/2022 21:42

It’s come to something when a politician gets lambasted for actually giving a shit about ordinary people.

justasking111 · 19/10/2022 21:44

After reading the car crash at West today. I'm kinda relieved to have the Senedd. It's carnage across the border

justasking111 · 19/10/2022 21:44

Westminster not West

MrsDThomas · 19/10/2022 22:05

Unlike Those in England being screwed by the conservative government, us in wales are being screwed by welsh labour too.

FayeGovan · 19/10/2022 22:42

Id rather be screwed a million times by the snp rather than the tories

SultanOfPing · 19/10/2022 23:10

I guess he had to come up with something to detract from the fact he'd been found out, so had a bit of a rant. It worked - he didn't actually answer the question.
Dripford and his cronies only care about pissing money away on the Welsh language, to hell with anything else. The NHS is fucked. A six month waiting list for an urgent cancer referral? Absolutely shocking. And then there's his dodging of the Wales-only inquiry into hospital-acquired Covid. The lying little shit actually stood in the Senedd and told everyone that there would not be a Wales-only inquiry, there was no need and that those campaigning for one previously were now in agreement that one wasn't required. Like fuck! He doesn't want one because it would prove just how bad the NHS in Wales is.

His views on women’s sex based rights are shit.

Darlingx · 20/10/2022 05:02

Why do people not see that any Government is in the pockets of Globalised Corporations the housekeeping of our country is dictated by Corporate greed so localised or community is irrelevant. I can’t see any safe pair of hands. Public services were being privatised and run for shareholder profit under both Parties plus its always a two party race thanks to the media coverage . They need to stop having such a short term view of issues that need long term investment as in beyond their election. I just think we have got to a level of transparency of corruption that is breathtaking thats all its not even thinly veiled for public scrutiny.

Bramblejoos · 20/10/2022 06:11

Thing is it's the same in Scotland - Ms Sturg rants about the Conservative gov but the Scot Nats have been in power for 12 years and where I am is like a 3rd world country. Main town a dump, roads seriously potholed (and have been for 5 years or more so not a new issue) education bad, hospitals over worked etc

I think those of us objecting, object to the fact that after decades of the NHS being a devolved responsibility, its the worst performing NHS in Wales. And that thar MD, when asked to account for that appalling record, did not say what his strategy was to fix things, but instead tried to distract attention from his own failings by seeking to blame a party who have never been in power since devolution in Wales, ( the welsh conservatives) and who therefore can not be held responsible for the appalling state of the NHS here.

Frankly, he clearly has no idea of how to fix the Welsh NHS, if he did he could have answered with that. Instead he used a classic counter attack distraction technique.

That's why uou love him. You aren't affected by his 'politics'.

Wheresmywoolyjumpers · 20/10/2022 13:22

Ok

Ttpetals · 20/10/2022 16:05

Yes I suspect those who love Mark Drakeford don't live in Wales. The NHS is a complete mess it was dreadful 10 years ago. I know from experience that a cancer appointment wait was 15 weeks 10 years ago so I had to go private. Now it's even worse here in Wales. Labour have ruled here far too long and they need to go. He is a horrible scruffy little man. Also why on earth did the Welsh Assembly buy a farm for just over £4M 😳 again this needs to be addressed!!!

CaptaNoctem · 20/10/2022 16:15

Arewerelated · 18/10/2022 20:34

Hes not a great guy. He's a control freak and the way his sons (I do accept he has his own difficulties) crimes were dealt with left me feeling very cynical about the man

Agreed

The way Labour has handled the NHS in Wales is a disgrace. His obvious bias towards the valleys makes me hate and despise the man.

He's only in power as he's propped up by Plaid Cmyru who he's stitched up over the proposals for an extra 30 odd members of the Senedd. Once he gets those then Labour will be unchallengeable and Plaid out on their ears.

Kellie45 · 20/10/2022 16:17

Drakeford reminds me of a bull in a china shop rebuking someone for dropping a plate over they’re washing up

GreenLunchBox · 18/10/2022 21:14

I agree OP

And I came across this speech by Gordon Brown today while listening to a podcast and I actually started crying. Surprising, because these days I hate the UK and hope it burns to the ground (or so I say to myself because of the fuckers we have in charge).

This is from when we had a government who actually gave a fuck about it's people:

The same Gorden Brown who sold th UK gold reserves to his chums at a rock bottom price? Google 'Brown's bottom'

The same Gorden Brown who sold th UK gold reserves to his chums at a rock bottom price? Google 'Brown's bottom'

The same Gordon Brown who presided over a decade of a stable economy and funded improved public services, while putting more money in working people’s pockets. That one.

Againstmachine · 20/10/2022 17:55

Gordon brown actually had to reverse a tax policy as it mad people below 22,000 poorer and above richer, yep he made mistakes too.

justasking111 · 20/10/2022 17:58

Didn't Brown rob the pensions??

Blossomtoes · 20/10/2022 17:58

He didn’t bankrupt the country and spook the markets. Tories really are desperate.

FayeGovan · 20/10/2022 18:00

Yes, they are desperate we are all taken for fools again..
