There is no Chinese takeaway like a Scottish Chinese takeaway

I am visiting my in laws in Scotland and ordered a Chinese takeaway tonight (we do this every time on our visits).

Now I have travelled the world, lived in New York, Hong Kong and London and now settled in Surrey. And I have NEVER came across a Chinese meal that tastes as good as it does in Scotland.

What are they putting in the stuff? Surely I'm not being unreasonable?

I always find it hilarious that there is only one Chinese takeaway on Skye, and it doesn't open on a Saturday. How secure in your business as a takeaway can you be, when you don't feel the need to open on what should be your biggest night?!

The Wee Chippy is far better than the Fish Bar. There are better chippies in Central Fife these days so not worth the drive out there like we used to back in the day.

I find English chippies are universally awful and it's the one thing I look forward to coming back home for - a decent fish supper!

I couldn’t agree more, Scottish fish and chips are far superior!

Sorry I know it’s been said many times but the Chinese takeaways in NI are much better than England & Scotland!

I have family & friends who won’t eat Chinese until their annual visits home. They just don’t compare!

There's a fantastic fish-and-chips place at the harbour in Troon. Batter that melts in your mouth, fish as thick as steaks. Eat inside or out, watching the boats.

Scottish Chinese takeaways are the dogs wotsits. Actually had one tonight as nobody got in till late.
The only takeaway that I have enjoyed in England is the one in Axminster in Devon. Lovely
