Newspaper reports as scathing as ever, and The Times suggesting Tories are lining up Sunak and Mordaunt as a duo.

can’t stand the woman but surely she’ll hold on for a bit longer - everyone was saying Boris would go much earlier than he did. And why on earth did they vote her into power in the first place 🙄

I love all the 'Liz Truss is actually an anarchist who infiltrated the Tory party in order to bring it down' theories.

I feel like this is how I slip into gibbering QAnon territory.

the80sweregreat · 14/10/2022 12:56

Once I heard him say, I'm staying
I knew he wouldn't !

Metabigot · 14/10/2022 12:56

Not a fan of any of them, but I'd take Rishi as the 'winner of the tallest midget competition'

SleeplessInEngland · 14/10/2022 12:56

Said it before and I really did mean it: if I was a tory supporter I'd want them out of power for a term. It's become the rabid dog that chased a car and, having caught it, has no idea what to do with it.

She's actually a labour mole.

NotQuiteUsual · 14/10/2022 12:58

I'm going to ask the head of the PTA to come run things for Liz. They managed to turn a bunch of homemade cupcakes into a minibus for the school, so I'm sure they'll be able to turn things around for her.

the80sweregreat · 14/10/2022 12:59

The anti Tory ! Who knows?
This is why she carries on smiling
Her speech later on will mention the energy crisis , the war, her new agenda
Hunt for chancellor then it seems, or seems a front runner

She's actually a labour mole.

No an actual Lib Dem - she never pivoted from her student days.

my experience of Kwarteng is that he would not be someone to go quietly, or take one for the team, especially in a situation where he was literally enacting the signature policy of the PM.
Indeed senior financiers here in DC were of the impression he would “take her with him” 👀

I approve.

Who the fuck will we get instead though?

TheCatsPyjamas1 · 14/10/2022 13:03

At this rate, I doubt she’ll last until tea time… this is insane.

Jacob Rees Mogg?! (Please no).

the80sweregreat · 14/10/2022 13:04

They need to get a grip for sure

SleeplessInEngland · 14/10/2022 13:04

Worth noting that whoever his replacement is it'll have to be someone who's stupid enough to think it's a good idea to take the job at this point in time, so that doesn't bode well.

the80sweregreat · 14/10/2022 13:06

K K was asked to ' stand aside '
A New way of writing ' sacked '

vera99 · 14/10/2022 13:06

Hunt won't take it he's not that stupid. Truss is toast.

PurplRainDancer · 14/10/2022 13:07

Bring back Boris

greenhousegal · 14/10/2022 13:07

Brexit ensured each PM post Cameron had to be more Brexity than the one before whether they wanted to be like that or not. Cabinet and MPs with Brexity credentials ruled who the leader is/was. Everyone of them is afraid to open their mouth in criticism of anything Brexity. The Emperor has no clothes for definite now.

vera99 · 14/10/2022 13:07

This whole situation is an epic shit show and absolutely no laughing matter. But as it's all out of my hands I find the best way of coping is to channel my inner Pam from Gavin and Stacey and just geek out on all the drama.

Bring back Boris

"Yes, please do that." - Labour

vera99 · 14/10/2022 13:09

Yup it's tragic for our country but until we have a GE what can we except laugh at these toxic clowns.

GasPanic · 14/10/2022 13:10

@SleeplessInEngland

IMO mortgage rates are going to continue to rise in the short term, mainly because they have to shadow the US.

So then you get the usual people insisting that is all the new persons fault, when the economic trajectory is set and unavoidable. That goes for Kwarteng, his successor and any Labour government that might get voted in.

So yes, tactically a big mistake if you ask me. They would have been better off getting Truss and Kwarteng to own the next 6 months.

Plenty of those in the tories though.
