I haven’t seen the print and don’t know the artist, but surely it’s likely to be a comment along the lines of the monarchy being an archaic and outdated institution?

The plates must pre-date the Queen’s death, as no way could they have been manufactured and end up as last season’s plates at TKMax in just one month.

It's not a comment about the Royal family. Have you never seen this sort of graphic around before? Not sure what it's called? A bit steampunk maybe?

It's Halloween stock, they have similar every year. I own loads and use them all year round.

It's not. It doesn't have a meaning. If you Google it skull and crown images are in their hundreds or thousands. Someone decided it looked cool. It's not a social commentary.

Having done a further internet search it can have a meaning, although meanings seem to vary, but none of them mention the Royal family. So might have a symbolism for some if it's a tattoo, but no one is wishing death on King Charles.

The range is Wicked by Ciroa - you can see top right. Maybe bumped to TK Maxx because of this design and the Queens death coinciding but Google shows it's just a theme for them

I don't think it's offensive to the Queen or King. It's just ugly and vastly over priced at 3.99. Which is why it's still sat on the shelf.

Unlike the skeleton, you can grow a thicker skin.

Of course all art has meaning - even cheap tat! It’s been deemed cool by the collective and mass printed and copied for a reason, because it speaks to something people feel. Whether people (artist or viewers) are conscious of that or not is another question.
