Not sure this is the best way to boost the TK Group’s huge profits. AIBU?

Is this OK TK Maxx?

More likely just a case of bad timing as TKs design order and make their stuff months in advance for Halloween. I’ve seen skulls with crowns before so it’s doubtful HM death prompted this plate.

MintyFreshOne · 14/10/2022 06:47

I want a full set!

CarefreeMe · 14/10/2022 06:47

I agree this won’t have been designed because of the queens death but they should know that’s it’s inappropriate to keep it out after she has just died.

CantFindTheBeat · 14/10/2022 06:48

They've had those in stock all year.

My DS bought some of the cups for university.

GloriousGlory · 14/10/2022 06:49

CarefreeMe · 14/10/2022 06:46

I love skulls but this is very offensive and they should have removed it.

Why?

CantFindTheBeat · 14/10/2022 06:49

They should have pulled the stock though.

Its not appropriate right now.

GloriousGlory · 14/10/2022 06:51

FlowerArranger · 14/10/2022 01:22

Appalling and disrespectful.
Can't believe 80% consider this acceptable...

Oh dear!

I'm surprised 20% think it's not acceptable.

And chucked it in landfill?

When would it be ok to resell it?

ZeroFuchsGiven · 14/10/2022 06:55

There is nothing new about these prints.

Had your son stopped using his cups?

PlainOldMe80 · 14/10/2022 06:57

Skull with crown prints have been around for years! I'm sure TKmaxx won't be the only one selling items with this prints?

Just out of curiosity op (or people agreeing its not acceptable) how long after the queens death do you think it would be acceptable to buy these prints again? And do you people have to put their items with these prints away for now?

In other words don't be daft!

kingtamponthefurred · 14/10/2022 06:58

Isn't that the King's official cereal bowl?

Letsbekindplease · 14/10/2022 06:59

They’ve had that design on sale for YEARS. I have one from 4/5 years ago

sandytooth · 14/10/2022 07:00

IHopeYouStepOnALegPiece · 14/10/2022 06:08

That’s an extremely popular print,( my boss has it over his toilet), Friend of mine bought those exact plates from TKMaxx about 5 months ago so they’ve not exactly gone “Oh Queens dead, let’s put these out for the lols”

You boss has it in his bathroom?!

What even is it? The skull looks odd.

Sunnyqueen · 14/10/2022 07:04

I doubt it will make much of a difference to their profits either way.

ChakaKhanfan · 14/10/2022 07:07

Haha
i think it’s funny

You don’t have to buy it and she was a 96 year old, it’s not like she was young and died in tragic circumstances.

I bet they will sell out

GloriousGlory · 14/10/2022 07:08

Sunnyqueen · 14/10/2022 07:04

I think it might be very popular at the moment, some people like macabre.

BooksAndHooks · 14/10/2022 07:09

This is part of the Halloween tableware. Variations of this design have been sold there for years. It is nothing to do with the Queen. Their Halloween stuff is out from July in TK Maxx so this would have been out for months already.

FindingMyself1999 · 14/10/2022 07:10

Is it ‘bone China’? 😂

Sparklfairy · 14/10/2022 07:14

ReginaPerrin · 14/10/2022 00:57

They’ve probably had this in stock for many months and are only putting it out now because of hallowe’en. I don’t think for one minute it’s related to the Queen’s death.

Obviously. I'm not sure whether it's better PR to pull the line when you realise though or leave it for viral posts such as these with an apology after...

Absolutely. No way could this be designed, manufactured and in TK Maxx in 6 weeks.

It's not my taste but better that people who do like that style can buy what exists already rather than sending it to landfill to protect the delicate sensibiities of some who were never going to buy it anyway.

It's a free choice to buy it or not.

TowerblocksAndSunflowers · 14/10/2022 07:18

I laughed!
Somebody designed them long before the queen died and now can't sell them, so off the TKMAXX they go.

CantFindTheBeat · 14/10/2022 07:51

@GloriousGlory

Definitely not chuck it.

Rotate it with other stock for a couple of months maybe? Hardly a massive deal.

Don't get snarky with me, I'm ambivalent about it 😎

Littleredbrickmammy · 14/10/2022 07:54

TK Maxx don’t make stuff - they buy up brands and other retailers aged stock

Quveas · 14/10/2022 07:57

CarefreeMe · 14/10/2022 06:46

In this case "offensive" is a matter of personal opinion. I couldn't give a damn, neither could loads of others here. That isn't offensive - it's "I don't like it". If shops stocked stuff based solely on every shopper loving it they would have no stock on the shelves.
