I live on a street where parking for visitors is a nightmare due to the fact that nearly everyone has a driveway (including us). Therefore when we have visitors we always let them park across our driveway. To be clear, them doing this does not affect the neighbours on either side getting in or out of their own driveways - there is no overhang whatsoever and plenty of space. One of my neighbours has asked me not to let visitors park across my driveway as (his words) it sets a bad example and makes other people think they can park across driveways (I've never seen this happen once).

Doesn't matter if they are your visitor or not if they are parking across a dropped curb then they are in the wrong. I think if its a quick drop and run fine but anything more than a couple of minutes then you need to sort something else out

Technically it is illegal and they can be fined, as PP says. Obviously it doesn't usually happen because it relies on someone complaining and you're not likely to, but if she does....

She has the "right" to say/complain about what she wants. You get to choose what you do with that.

The whole street is dropped kerbs, I don't see how that is blocking wheelchair access at all? It is not blocking the path. Genuine question.

As long as it’s not an obstruction to your neighbours (I’m thinking particularly anyone opposite your property, my opposite neighbour likes to have three cars parked directly infront of their drive and they fail to understand that the dropped kerb outside their house is an access for our dropped kerb parallel to it.)

I do think it's pretty unlikely that you'd be fined, although it is possible. The borough I live in states that they will issue fines for all contraventions, whereas the neighbouring borough says they only fine for 'unfriendly' parking (their wording), which I assume means if you don't have permission to block someone in.

It's obviously important that everyone has access to cross the road but given what OP has said about everyone having driveways I assume there are enough kerbs to allow everyone to cross regardless of OP's visitors.

They park across our driveway but they're on the driveway itself, I don't know how else to explain it really. The driveways are really only designed for one car but our car is tiny so guests can use it too if they park sideways.

I think I can imagine you live in a new build estate, which are typically terribly designed for parking. They seem to like to build with large curves and multiple dropped kerbs, so there really is no on street parking, it’s a complete nightmare so I understand your frustration if that’s the case.

Im not sure what to advise though.

I park across my own drive all the time I'm so sick of others blocking ut so now I park there. Not on the pavement so not obstructing it for pedestrians etc. Tell them to mind their own business it doesn't affect them

Of course a wheelchair could use any space to cross, that’s a given. I’m just thinking outside the box!
