I don’t think anyone else would put up with me like dh does, unless I paid them the 5m, and they still wouldn’t be dh.

I'd like to say no I wouldn't but then I think of how much it would help so many issues that affect DH and DD, DH could have the health help he needs especially. I think I'd be tempted to accept to make life better for DH and DD as much as myself.

If I couldn’t enjoy that kind of money with my husband then I wouldn’t want it, all our hopes and dreams are to do lovely things together

But we are not poor. We've both been poor at various stages in life and I know that if we were strugging now the way we each struggled in our twenties, we might be tempted

yes and that is important here and what people here who have money are forgetting. I see this on lottery threads also, many saying they wouldn't want the money etc and making money appear insignificant. These views come often from a place of privilege.

No. He drives me mad sometimes, and I him, but he is also one of the best people I know. My life would be immeasurably worse without him in it and 5 million wouldn't change that. Perhaps my opinion is skewed, though, because we are comfortably off, if not wealthy, so 5 million, whilst a huge amount of money, wouldn't drastically improve our immediate circumstances in a tangible enough way for it to be worthwhile.

I don't have a partner currently so have no answer, but I agree having grown up without any money that whether or not I was comfortable would make a difference. I am comfortable and I still worry about money.
