No - yanbu
Yes - yabu

Wondering, completely neutrally (each woman obviously should decide for herself). Obviously it's nobody else's business on an individual level, but I'm wondering whether more women do or don't statistically rather than about why individuals do or don't.

I used to. Either a full face if make up or the near death look for me - never anywhere in between . Now I'm older and not long started a job where I'm customer facing I'm the milk tinted moisturiser, brow gel, eyeshadow and mascara with blush and liquid lipstick. Very simple and quick to do. Never thought I would be a tinted moisturiser girl but the milk one is amazing and my skin feels so much better since I started using it.

Normal day where I'm shopping or running the kids around no I don't wear anything.

Greyarea12 · 01/10/2022 13:35

No, I wear bb cream and concealer with blush, eye brow pencil and mascara.

mondaytosunday · 01/10/2022 13:36

I used to, especially when I went in to an office fir work.
Now I often use a powder that gives ok coverage - not as good as foundation but it helps a bit and is quick. But I'm normally just going to Tesco or something. If meeting a friend for lunch I'd take more care. If going somewhere for work then ditto.

XmasElf10 · 01/10/2022 13:37

No, I don’t wear makeup pretty much at all (last time was to speak at a conference back in June and it was very light then).

Weelegs29 · 01/10/2022 13:42

Depends where I'm going! If only out doing the food shop/running errands/going for a dog walk etc then no. Only would wear it on weekends if I'm say going out for nice lunch/dinner/meeting friends for drinks

Celticandco · 01/10/2022 13:47

Always, I look like I've been dug up otherwise

queenatom · 01/10/2022 14:10

If I'm going to be in the office or out for most of the day, yes. If I'm mainly at home but just popping out once or twice to the Co-op/post office/to get a quick coffee, then probably not. Pre-baby and COVID I'd day I wore foundation 9 days out of 10, now it's more like 1 in 4 days.

Fraaahnces · 01/10/2022 14:23

Tinted sunscreen or a tinted moisturiser

Mybumlooksbig · 01/10/2022 14:24

I used to but now I'm lucky if I have time to wipe my arse let alone think about make-up

Olsi109 · 01/10/2022 14:25

I wear it most days. If I'm just nipping out quick I won't bother but if going out to town or a day out or work etc, I wear it.

DoodlePug · 01/10/2022 14:27

I am mega pale with translucent brows and lashes, red round the eyes and blueish lips! If I don't wear makeup everyone, even shop assistants and random strangers, will ask my if I'm OK and say I look ill.

I dont wear much and it takes minutes, powder foundation swirled everywhere, some blush, 1coat mascara and quick brow fill. Cba to cover my blue lips unless I'm going somewhere.

You see women in full and perfect make up out and about, I'm always torn between wanting to look like that and thinking how much time it would take. If I had the time I think I'd do it.

Stroopwaffle5000 · 01/10/2022 14:30

Yes because I have pigmentation from past acne and dark circles under my eyes. I also wear blush, eyeshadow, mascara and do my eyebrows every day. It only takes 10 mins and makes me look and feel better.

VladmirsPoutine · 01/10/2022 14:41

Yes. The only time I don't wear make up is a dash to the corner shop or supermarket.

JudyLemon · 01/10/2022 14:47

No but I do wear concealer and blush, bronze and highlight, so people probably assume that I am wearing foundation.

BlackKittyMama · 01/10/2022 15:26

I used to before the pandemic. When I was working on a hot hospital ward wearing a mask for 14hr shifts it became a necessity to keep a bare face! It actually fuelled a massive new obsession with skincare and my skin improved so much.

Now I tend to either just apply a bit of translucent powder (I have oily skin) or I use a lightweight tinted moisturiser or bb cream.

PorridgewithQuark · 01/10/2022 15:28

tickticksnooze this is obviously true. I just meant I don't think anyone has to explain themselves either way (though obviously it's interesting when people do) but just wondered whether a lot of people would say that they do or they don't.

An awful lot of the "statistical data" and "survey results" presented to the general public are actually almost as unscientific and self selecting, and self reporting as a Mumsnet poll, and often there are even fewer people asked. It's not rigorous data but it's as meaningful as an old fashioned highstreet questionnaire.

No but I don't ever wear it outside the house either. I'm convinced it makes skin worse in the long run and I just can't be arsed with make up generally

Cheesewiz · 01/10/2022 15:31

Yes everyday I go out, but in the summer I wear a tinted moisturiser

queenofarles · 01/10/2022 15:32

Depends on the night before,!
Good sleep =no foundation
bad night = foundation and blusher or bronzer to make me look more alive.

Incrediblebuttrue · 01/10/2022 15:33

No. Can't be bothered and hate the feeling.

Ponderingwindow · 01/10/2022 15:36

my daily sunblock is a tinted primer. It is effective and comfortable. I would prefer a plain moisturizer with spf, but I couldn’t find one due to allergy restrictions.

Sunshinebluebells · 01/10/2022 15:37

Always. Even to go to the shop. I do look like death without it. It’s not something I enjoy doing either and If I had nice glowing skin, I definitely would not bother.

MintyGreenDreams · 01/10/2022 15:38

Yes.I usually wear
Primer
Foundation
Nude eyeshadow
Eyeliner
Mascara

petpig · 01/10/2022 15:40

I wear a moisturiser and then a light foundation both have spf 25 and that's the main reason for wearing. I also have redness from rosacea so it helps with that.

Doesn't sound like many are wearing an spf

Thiswayorthatway · 01/10/2022 15:41

Never wear foundation at all
