To feel uncomfortable using this Hotel toilet?

Staying 7 nights with DH in a 4 star hotel in Mallorca, Spain. We may be married but I don't feel comfortable with doing my business in this toilet while he is in the room. There is a gap on every side of the door and it does not close completely.

Is this a standard setup in hotels in Spain or do you think I'm not being unreasonable and it's very odd?

See photo attached.

Thanks all for your contributions. I did have a good laugh at some of the comments and stories. I was surprised the DM decided to write a nothing story about this - it would have been good if they could have at least added some input to their article.

To summarise the comments here and on the DM article, it would seem that many others are divided on whether or not this interior design is odd for a hotel. Indeed the highest rated comments for the DM article seem to agree with me.

Totally agree with you, OP. There is just no mystery in some couples’ relationships. DH and I are extremely close, we talk about anything and everything, but why on earth would either of us want to empty our bowels in front of one another. You wouldn’t take a dump in front of someone on a first date. Why lower your standards because you’re married?

Hi OP, would I be able to use this image for an article on the mirror online please, (all credit given if needed)? Best, Melissa

Hi thanks for asking for permission.

I don't see why not, please feel free to use as you wish. I do not want any credit.

In all honesty, I can't even make out a crack anywhere on that door. Sure I'm just missing something, though.
