What you and partner do that others would find gross

VegMam · 25/09/2022 21:44

Inspired by the peeing in the shower thread, where apparently it’s gross to share a towel (I disagree). Are there things you and your partner do that might be considered gross?

In my house we have multiple toothbrushes and my husband and I just use whichever one (ie we share toothbrushes).

However, we’d never wear outdoor shoes in the house, nor would outdoor clothes be allowed on or in our bed.

My dog likes to help with the washing up.

I never wash my face. It gets wet when I'm in the shower, but that's all.

Skid marked knickers or pants on occasion. Found his a few times, don't know if he's seem mine

I accidentally used DP toothbrush once, i felt physically sick after and had to re brush with my own. 🙈

He gets in my bath water though (he's covered in oil after work) but i wouldn't get in his.

Guess we're all different!

Sickness aside, surely skid marks just means you don’t clean yourself properly after going to the loo?!?

Share bath water

Never change into clean/comfy clothes during the day post work.

Use same towels

Wee infront of each other
Sometimes share toothbrush
Clean his ears out
Squeeze his blackheads

What I personally find disgusting:

Farting around each other (smelling someone elses bowels is an instant turnoff)
Shitting around each other
Not washing hands
Not cleaning bits before sex

And never found it hard to not fart infront of people! I just wandered into another room 😂
And clean before sex.. literally a quick sink clean when I know something is imminent 😆 Can't stand having or licking stinky bits..

Probably in my sleep! But then they'd usually be sleeping too?

Not if you woke them up with your farting. Plus people do wake up in the night when their partner is sleeping, or one falls alseep before the other...

Why would anyone be mortified if their DH heard them fart?

i would hate to feel like I couldn’t fart in the comfort of my own home! Fair enough at work or whatever but not at home.

We are open farters

Lick each other (not sexually)

Assist with gross personal care tasks, not because it's needed due to disabilities either (if I've got the nail clippers out I'll cut DHs nails, he shaves my bum if he is using the shaving foam in the shower at that time etc.)

Just curious....if you don't wash your hands often, change your sheets regularly, wash your jeans, use your DP toothbrush, share the bed with your animals, etc, did your household get covid? It would seem to me that you should have an incredible immune system since you're regularly exposed to germs.

It has been said that the Western world is much too clean...think about when there was no indoor plumbing, etc. People have been surviving for centuries without being so clean.

I've also never (audibly) broken wind in front of a partner! I'd be mortified.

How can you have such confidence your output will be silent? 😮

Some of you who won't fart or will only go to the loo with the door closed & bolted You might find yourselves one day wiping the bum / change poopy pants / nappy of your dh / partner because of an age related illness .

He shaves your bum? He’s a keeper - I doubt my DP would even shave my lower legs!

If some of it is true, mine is, it makes me think there will be at least kernels of truth in most posts.

From reading this thread, I don't think I'll ever be able to trust anyone with a dog (or dogs) in future. I'll struggle to eat/drink at their home, or have anything they've brought with them from home.

Tbf, I already don't trust people with cats for that reason .... I always imagine cats have been licking/walking over anything being prepared on a worktop!

Re hand-washing, I think we all already knew such people existed. We've heard them when we've been in cubicles - flush and leave. Or we've seen them leave a cubicle, check their make-up and leave the ladies'. I increase my paranoia regarding hygiene by imagining these 'ladies' working in some capacity within the food/hospitality sectors. 😧

I'm grim in the sense I have no shame around bodily functions but I don't think I'll be eating or drinking with dog people again.

Yeah the hand washing is grim as well.

@Trez1510

I'm a cat mumma , but pleased to inform my cat has her own food bowls but even those are not even washed at the same sink as I wash ours , they are not wiped dry on tea towels but kitchen paper ( and no I don't blow my nose in them afterwards.)

Luckily she's a bit dim and hasn't worked out to jump / walk on the kitchen worktops.
so I think you are safe to eat & drink at mine.

I won't invite you into my bed though as she is often found on it ! 😂

@KittyCatsby

I'm confident the vast majority of people don't do the things people have mentioned on this thread regarding what their animals are allowed to do at home.

I'm allergic to cats so visits to homes where cats are kept are brief pop-in type visits to drop-off/pick-up something or someone.

I'll be honest, though, if/when I'm looking for accommodation and a place advertises itself as 'pet friendly' I become blind to the listing. The idea of spending a few days/week in accommodation where animals have been on the beds/sofas and, now I've learned, have possibly even licked the dishes humans use .... well, no. Just no.

I hope you and your cat continue to have many happy, dreamfilled nights together! 😁

Loads of women just walk straight out of the public toilets without washing their hands. I thought covid had every one trained up, but nope.
