Inpost -stuck at sorting office

peassandcarrots · 23/09/2022 21:31

Not an aibu, posting for traffic as I'm very stressed.

I've got 5 parcels currently at in the sorting office according to tracking info, all posted in InPost lockers on Sunday and collected by courier on the same day.

The parcels are returned items for a refund, a couple of hundred pounds worth.

Has anyone else been experiencing delays with InPost? Did it get sorted?

I've got about 6 stuck that I sent on the 9th... very annoying!

pinkpanther84 · 23/09/2022 23:46

I'm awaiting 2 Vinted parcels that are 'at the sorting facility', for about 2 weeks now. First time I've used the In Post option and definitely the last! I called them earlier and they said they'd chase it up and email me but not heard anything..

peassandcarrots · 24/09/2022 07:25

Now a few of them have been updated to say they have arrived at the sorting facility again Confused

Vinted tracking says they're currently experiencing an issue with 24/7 In post Lockers and this will be fixed as soon as possible

ThatWardrobe · 24/09/2022 08:47

I've just had this with a coat from Vinted - arrived at the sorting facility 3 days ago... And again today it arrived at the sorting facility 😵‍💫 Bought a week ago, shipping I chose said 2-5 working days and now it's saying it could be delivered up to 7 October. It's a mess!

By the by, I wonder what happens if it doesn't arrive in time because they refund the buyer automatically I think - does that mean the poor sellers don't get paid?

voxnihili · 24/09/2022 08:48

I’ve been waiting a couple of weeks and have just received a text to say my parcel is ready to collect so hopefully things are starting to get moving.

RJML · 24/09/2022 09:03

Amazed you got through to them on the phone, I've just tried twice and at the 20 minute mark got cut off with "nobody is available to take your call". Two parcels, one stuck for 11 days the other for 8 or 9 days. I used inpost for an order before those and had no issues. Very very disappointed, one of the items I wanted to use tonight.

mycatisannoying · 24/09/2022 09:36

Same boat here. I've never had problems with any other delivery options, and most certainly won't select this one again!

properdoughnut · 24/09/2022 09:38

Weird. Wonder if they are going under.

mycatisannoying · 24/09/2022 09:38

It has been 2 weeks since I ordered the stuff on Vinted.

mummyh2016 · 24/09/2022 09:41

Same here, item arrived at the sort facility a week ago and hasn't tracked since. God knows what is going on.

MissRainbowBrite · 24/09/2022 09:50

Me too, I ordered some football boots for DD which were shipped on the 15th. For the last 10 days the tracker has just been saying "received at sorting office" "sent from sorting office". It's like the boots are doing the bloody Hokey Cokey. I've taken this method off my list of sending now, wouldn't trust them again.

InPost parcels changed a few months ago from being delivered by Evri (What was Hermes) to being delivered by Yodel. Since then their service has been awful. Evri empty the lockers and take their parcels to their depot. The InPost ones are handed over to Yodel. The Evri ones on the whole do fine. From my experience the InPost ones not so well!!

I send 1000s of parcels a month, and I won't touch InPost anymore. Yodel are fine if you use them direct by taking it to the parcel shop.

I know that doesn't help those of you with parcels stuck in the system. If it's a return and you've used a label provided by the merchant then once you've scanned it into the locker it's really on them if the parcel hasn't arrived and you should still get your refund.

Xanadu58 · 24/09/2022 10:19

I sold something on vinted, i took it to the locker on the 7th September, it was picked up straight away but since then , nothing. Buyer is still waiting .

Scottishwidow193 · 24/09/2022 10:30

This whole mess has been caused by Vinted using them as their default delivery service. It's been very popular as sellers don't have to print labels.

InPost now has a massive back log to clear so don't panic. All is not lost just very delayed! They've had some of my parcels for 9 days now.

They say they'll have to all cleared within 2 weeks.

Vinted are saying on an item I sold that if it's not delivered by 14th October it'll be regarded as lost and they'll cover item costs for me, the seller, up to £500. So presumably if they regard it as lost they'll give me a fiver or something. Not sure how they work out how much to give.

Scarecrowrowboat · 24/09/2022 10:38

15 parcels at sorting office from 1-2 weeks.
So frustrating, I know eventually I'll get money back but would much rather have the items/get the buyers their items.

Scarecrowrowboat · 24/09/2022 10:39

I don't know how they didn't predict this massive extra demand from letting people use label-less drop off in lockers.

Scarecrowrowboat · 24/09/2022 10:40

I mean from Vinted specifically

Gensola · 24/09/2022 11:03

@KatherineofGaunt surely they have to give you the money that the buyer paid for the item?

Peyote are paying up to £500 for stuff on Vinted?! I'm missing a trick, most of the stuff I sell is £1!

KatherineofGaunt · 24/09/2022 13:09

*People

What the feck is Peyote and why is that in my phone dictionary?!

peassandcarrots · 24/09/2022 14:29

I have done a bit of pestering this morning and Next has agreed to process my refund although the item still hasn't reached them.

Pretty Little Thing said they have received the items I returned so it's just a case of waiting for the refund to be processed and reach my account.

Just waiting for a reply from New Look now.

Very stressful and frustrating that InPost seem to be ballsing up so badly for so many people. I feel a bit better now knowing at least 2 of my parcels are where they should be, the system shouldn't be saying they are sat in a sorting office.

Absolutely appalling service, nobody answers the phone, or emails.

Snowdropsarelovely · 24/09/2022 14:33

This is interesting, I use them recently for the first time and am getting the same error message

IamChipmunk · 24/09/2022 14:35

I've taken InPost off as a postage option from my Vinted items now.
I didn't like the fact it was label-less and like it even less now!

@KatherineofGaunt I think they just cover costs up to the value of £500 the item I sold was a fiver so I presume I'll get my fiver and my buyer will get their fiver back plus the postage they paid after the 'lost' parcel cut off date.
