AIBU?
For disliking this sort of Facebook post?
Lunificent · 20/09/2022 17:27
Someone I know posted this, leading to a pile on of “love this”, “I’m sharing this babe” and so on.
It just seems to be a long winded “take me as you find me”.And it’s more than likely American.
What’s the attraction to this sort of thing?
Am I being unreasonable?

Cringe. Just makes me relieved not to be on Fb/Insta etc as I thankfully usually avoid all this self-indulgent cheese.
ThreeRingCircus · 20/09/2022 17:34
Urgh, it's cringey. I can't understand the motivation for posting it either.
AffIt · 20/09/2022 17:36
Also, in my experience, anybody who describes themselves as 'a little bit crazy' is normally the most conventional, vanilla person you will ever meet (and also incredibly judgemental of people who actually are properly a little bit crazy).
Shiboleth1 · 20/09/2022 17:36
Oh my word the author of that thinks they're profound - and they aren't!
Jewelanemone · 20/09/2022 17:36
Usually posted by the type of person who also posts 'In A & E' with no explanation, prompting a flurry of 'U OK, hun?' responses.

This with bells on
Whichwhatnow · 20/09/2022 17:39
I have a friend who posts this kind of crap all the time. Along with those awful 'what does your name/face/star sign say about you' and 'your stripper name is the last thing you ate plus the colour of your top' type posts. It's weird because in real life she's very no nonsense and normal.
I don't want to unfollow/unfriend her because she does post the odd thing about her life that's actually important but my god it gets tedious.
Whichwhatnow · 20/09/2022 17:41
AffIt · 20/09/2022 17:34
That's a lot of words to say 'hello, I'm a normal human'.
Ha, indeed!
HairyMothballs · 20/09/2022 17:41
I hate that type of crap. It's usually from some attention-seeking woman, hungry for admiration/recognition/praise. Pathetic.
Bubblebubblebah · 20/09/2022 17:43
Bahahahahaa this is why i am proper selective on my SM. Used to have more people but ended up deleting them for these sins.
I don't tolerate attention seeking of this style or "check in-hospital".

I dare you to comment on your friends post saying "cringe" and the vomit emoji like the comment above!
I always wish I had the nerve to write my "real" response to these facebook posts.

She has about 3000 FB friends who would probably all pile on to tell me good women should fix each other’s crowns or something.
PinkButtercups · 20/09/2022 17:50
These make me cringe.
I have someone related to me and posts stuff like this all the time. Literally their lives are over fb.
Usually along the lines of 'no one does anything for me, where are you when I need you. Get taken for a mug' etc etc. Then the comments flow in 'you ok babe?' To which they reply I'll DM you. Oh do please piss off and have a nice cup of shut the fuck up.

Oh yes. The shared uterus thing when we are supposed to be only positive about each other even when one is flogging diatlrhea coffee claiming it cures fiabetes or something 😂
Yah. Sisterhood my arse!
Bubblebubblebah · 20/09/2022 17:54
I recommend to purge your SM, people. It's bliss after
jetadore · 20/09/2022 17:54
Oh, it’s just a normal run of the mill fb post. Last time I looked the place was riddled with shite like that.
Thepeopleversuswork · 20/09/2022 17:55
Agree. But a special place in hell goes to those people who post some self pitying rant about how unreliable and shit people are and then adds: “I will know based on whether you post this or not if you are a real friend or not.” ie if you don’t immediately do as I say you can fuck off.
Evil bullying coercive shit. The Facebook equivalent of the pyramid scheme.

Sexist much? I know men and women who share these and they’re both equally desperate.
steff13 · 20/09/2022 17:58
We don't usually say "mum" in America. Thanks for assuming, though.
Shitzngiggles · 20/09/2022 18:00
I know someone who posts this type of thing. Shes extremely insecure and always looking for validation.
Iknownothing · 20/09/2022 18:02
Ah yes also posts the ‘I’m deleting anyone who doesn’t comment on this post’ I have strangely survived many of these supposed culls.
I tend to treat them like my kids - rewarding positive behaviour by posting replies to normal posts but ignoring the bad…
