Car parked on my drive!

IGetAParkingThread · 20/09/2022 12:20

Name change because this is very outing! Just popped out for ten minutes, come home and there’s a car parked on my drive! I live in a busy walking area, but there’s tons of street parking available, so no idea why they’ve used my drive rather than using that. Good news is, I’ve parked them in 😁 bad news is, none of my neighbours (two houses) can get their cars on the drive now and I’m guessing it’s one of their friends 😞

I’ve attached a diagram (of course!) but I’m crap at drawing so it’s not great. I’m house 1, and the X is the random car parked on my drive. Neighbours are 2 and 3 and have their own drives/parking spaces (both empty). My car is the * so it’s blocking everyone at the moment!

I demand you drink a cocktail OP- it’s the rules! - you also need to answer the door with it in your hand when the CF arrives asking you to move!! 😂😂😂

Dougieowner · 20/09/2022 12:56

If the car is still there when you go out, make sure you put your bins behind it. Won't stop them but does mean they will have to move them so if nothing else will cause them inconvenience (please tell me you have at least 3-bins including a couple that are full and really heavy!). 😁

JorisBonson · 20/09/2022 12:57

It's been a white since we had a good CF parking thread, this is exciting.

CactusBlossom · 20/09/2022 12:58

Good for you! My NDN has been parking all his effing cars on the shared drive, but only one on his own drive. He's a right CF, sometimes I can't get my wheelie bins down the drive and have to use the steps on the path.

BoogieBoogieWoogie · 20/09/2022 13:00

What makes you think the CF is a neighbours friend?

Electriq · 20/09/2022 13:04

It's been a while since the last parking thread 😁

Is the school run walking distance? 🙃

Hymnulop · 20/09/2022 13:07

Oh god do anything to leave your car there, get a friend to pick the kids up, get a taxi etc. Just avoid moving your car.

StarCourt · 20/09/2022 13:09

Place mark!

SliceOfCakeCupOfTea · 20/09/2022 13:10

Start drinking straight away. It's the law

SliceOfCakeCupOfTea · 20/09/2022 13:10

Also, call your local rugby team in case you need to bounce the car out of the space.

JacquelineCarlyle · 20/09/2022 13:13

Great job blocking them in! I always wonder who has the cheek to park on someone else's driveway, so glad you're taking a stand!

mummymayhem18 · 20/09/2022 13:15

Ooh I get so annoyed by things like this. Some people are just clueless CF's.

Raddix · 20/09/2022 13:16

So are they totally blocked in? Don’t let them out until they apologise and are thoroughly inconvenienced! Lie and say you’ve been drinking and can’t move your car.

curvymumma79 · 20/09/2022 13:17

I insist that you pour yourself a glass of wine.

You can't drink and drive, so they will have to come back tomorrow.

ithoughtisawapuddycat · 20/09/2022 13:18

Place marking and grabbing some pop corn

CarefulWithTheCabbages · 20/09/2022 13:19

My monies on a cheeky walker

RubyReigns · 20/09/2022 13:21

I’m fuming for you. I have cf neighbours who park over my drive and it drives me crazy. Please get a taxi or walk for school pick up. Don’t make it easy for them.

FlipFlopShopInHawaii · 20/09/2022 13:22

When the car's owner knocks in your door make sure you're very busy so can't move your car right now!

TeeBee · 20/09/2022 13:22

I pray for someone to do this to my drive because I would be the most awkward twat in the world to prevent them doing it again.

Greyarea12 · 20/09/2022 13:23

Honestly i cannot understand why people think it is ok to park in someones driveway. Wtf is wrong with them. I'v had this happen to me and I get blocked in regularly. I would park right at the back of them so they are blocked in completely. Arseholes.

MrJollyLivesNextDoor · 20/09/2022 13:24

Can you walk to school to pick up the kids?

Maytodecember · 20/09/2022 13:25

Put a sign on it. “ Thank you for parking here @ £5 ( or 10 or 15) per hour or part of. Please pay before leaving”

Whammyyammy · 20/09/2022 13:28

I'm raging inside for you OP, there's no excuse for this CF behaviour.
Please be as awkwardly and overly polite as you can, but don't move for at least 2 hours after they ask tell you to move it

ThatsGoingToHurt · 20/09/2022 13:28

I would call the non-emergency police number and let the know that you suspect a stolen car has been dumped on your drive!
