To hope that this is the end of Holly & Phil on This Morning?

Absolute backlash on Twitter as it emerges that Holly & Phill queue jumped to see the queen at her lying in state. Lots of comparisons to Beckham and memes about we skip any queues.

The This Morning office has put out a statement saying they are attending in their capacity as broadcasters.AIBU to hope that this is the end of shrieky Holly and slimey twat Phil?

God I hope so. This, along with the crass spin to win bill paying saga.. they are both such smug, ignorant twats and I for one will happily watch their downfall.

ancientgran · 18/09/2022 11:17

I don't watch them so not partisan about them but if they were working why should they queue for up to 24 hrs if there is a queue for media people? Not only them of course their camera people would have to queue as well.

David Beckham seems nice but he wasn't working so a different situation.

People on here are vicious.

@gettingolderandgrumpier well said it's an ugly lynch mob almost as bad at that directed at the Queen when she wouldn't lower the flag for Diana lest we forget.

Shocking isn't it. You can really see how lynch mobs happen when you read threads like this.

Lots of people have had access without the queue, other media people, MPs, Trudeau. Should they all join the queue or risk abuse.

You really think they devised a queue for certain groups of people just for them, even making special passes and lanyards?

I think they needed to ask themseves did they actually need to walk past the coffin if they were going to a different room to work/film. I'm pretty sure they weren't actually 'working' in the Hall so why the need for them to enter that way?

Maybe it will all be completely justified and they will explain it.

They were at work, don't know what you do but in most jobs the boss decides what you're doing so I assume whoever was in charge of filming this applied for passes and certain access and then they did.

Ihatemyroad · 18/09/2022 11:30

NO ONE should’ve had a VIP pass. It’s not a trip to the Cirque du Soleil! Do these people get ‘fast tracked’ in to funerals as well? Are they allowed to cut in front of other grieving guests because their time is more precious than anyone else’s?

It’s disgraceful that anyone was allowed to queue jump.

Whammyyammy · 18/09/2022 11:35

This type of queue jumping is on par with altona towers fast track passes. I think the likes of P and H jumping the queue ahead of the public, shows just how much they think of the public.
Carry on plebs and serfs....

I've always been a bit on the fence with H&P, but honestly I'm appalled.

The oddest thing about Beckham is that he was on his own. No sons, family or friends wanted to go with him?!

I don't think this is odd at all - I'm not in the UK right now otherwise I'd have gone, but if I had gone, I'd have been on my own as all my family and friends think it's a bonkers thing to do!

DappledThings · 18/09/2022 11:42

Does that apply to all the MPs as well and other visiting foreign dignitaries? Other journalists and film crews?

I have no opinion on Phil and Holly. Not watched anything they are in since Phil was in the broom cupboard but I find it so weird they are attracting so much ire when loads of other people don't. Why does anyone care?

Beepbeepenergy · 18/09/2022 11:48

Alison josie demot etc love em all…. Phil and holly I don’t love

Badger1970 · 18/09/2022 11:50

They've been over exposed and over relied on by ITV. So their demise won't come too soon for me, but they're not the only ones who've queue jumped........

The very fact that a VIP pass exists in this situation is completely wrong IMO.

Yes but were they actually working in that hall? Did they need to walk through the hall? Were they oblivious of the queue?

FayeGovan · 18/09/2022 11:54

If they were there for work then fair enough. I like them.

Marcipex · 18/09/2022 11:55

I notice that when I say I like Holly and Phillip, posters reply ‘Hi Holly’

When people say they like Alison, for example, I don’t reply ’Hi Alison’. I just accept that the poster likes Alison.

I’m not sure why so many haters.

Or were they following directions from the person in charge of the show? Maybe find out who that was and vilify him if it bothers you that much. I don't understand why people are so bothered about them when loads of people used the priority queue.

FayeGovan · 18/09/2022 12:00

Of course they had to walk through the hall,, that would have been part of the programme. Why the animosity? Why is Beckham a hero for waiting in a queue? Is he the new nations sweetheart? Pardon me whilst i vomit.

Thing is though they didn't have to follow directions from the person in charge of the show. They could have taken personal responsibility for what THEY did. Phil and Holly are responsible for themselves and I'm pretty sure can tell the person in charge what they think. These two manage their profiles so well and it is at the top of everything they do so please don't pretend otherwise. You sound as if you're writing their PR and are using the 'person in charge of the show' as their excuse.

FayeGovan · 18/09/2022 12:10

Well maybe they couldn't get the time off work to stand in a queue 20 hours? Maybe they'd more bloody sense?
