Absolute backlash on Twitter as it emerges that Holly & Phill queue jumped to see the queen at her lying in state. Lots of comparisons to Beckham and memes about we skip any queues.

The This Morning office has put out a statement saying they are attending in their capacity as broadcasters.AIBU to hope that this is the end of shrieky Holly and slimey twat Phil?

I read an article a while ago about how he and his agent daughter(s) have all the "talent" on itv on their books and essentially control who gets the itv jobs. Anything itv and they effectively chose who gets the gig. Get on the wrong side of them and you're history. My understanding is that's how they are still so fawned over by the itv bosses.

They'll probably have to refilm the segment.

It'll all be about how they're feeling, how honoured they are to be able to do this. How the atmosphere makes them feel etc.

Which if there hadnt been a backlash would have been sucked up by their viewers.

Now they're probably editing it as much as possible so it does piss off people further

The idea of them being journalists is laughable both a couple of jumped up ex kids presenters who got lucky.

I’m not a particular fan of holly & Phil but really backlash because they didn’t queue for 12 hours really ? ,
sorry but if your the kind of person who wants to say horrible things about someone just because they didn’t queue quite frankly what is wrong with you ? . They didn’t queue big deal but some comments on social media are vile and is much much worse than going in a shorter queue that was offered to them . They did nothing wrong but bad mouthing someone with hated is wrong .

Why have Philip’s comments been turned off but Holly’s haven’t?

I don’t understand why ITV think so highly of them when the public doesn’t.

Can't stand Holly and Phil. I think Holly gets most jobs due to her husband as he works for ITV. Can't understand how Phil has protected his squeaky clean image despite all the revelations. By all accounts both of them are quite difficult people and full of self importance. Always wondered what happened to Holly's close friendship with Fearne Cotton, seemed to end abruptly!

Brits are very very serious about queues and queue jumpers are the worst. Everyone getting a lovely dose of schadenfreude - it would be great to see them ditched by ITV.

Yes! The British hate queue jumpers as it just isn't British. I don't think H and P took into account the respect a lot of their fan base have for either The Queen or a good and decent well mannered and well organised queue.

I can’t help but think that the type of people aghast at some tv presenters not having queued in order to present their televised segment about this are the same people aghast that teachers don’t pay for their places on school trips.
