Absolute backlash on Twitter as it emerges that Holly & Phill queue jumped to see the queen at her lying in state. Lots of comparisons to Beckham and memes about we skip any queues.

The This Morning office has put out a statement saying they are attending in their capacity as broadcasters.AIBU to hope that this is the end of shrieky Holly and slimey twat Phil?

Yes it is. It would only take a couple of weeks of viewers dropping off for the heads of itv to take the hint, especially with this backlash.

They clearly aren't that bad if you can't handle a few weeks of not watching them.

Presumably they were there because they were doing a segment about the lying in state thing. Why else would they be there? The media arrangements are in place because the public want to see bits about it in the the news, on daytime tv, and so on. They weren’t there in a personal capacity.

seriously. It’s like complaining that sports commentators don’t have to buy tickets and get a better view than you did.

Even if they had queued I think it's distasteful. Holly should have gone with her husband, Phil with someone else.

Their USP is their stupid giggly relationship and the idea of the two of them queuing to see the coffin is off, and I'm not even a royalist.

According to the This Morning production team they were there to film something for Tuesday’s This Morning.

Frankly, the producers are probably wishing they’d decided to make that segment ‘holly and Phil wait for 18 hours overnight to see the coffin’ rather than whatever they actually got them to do. Because it seems most of the British public are idiots who want to watch tv about these things and still complain that special arrangements were made to facilitate making such tv.

I don't like the idea of Pay-per-View but my dad suggested they should have had a quick access door with payment of £25000 to skip the queue and then that money could have gone to the food banks or similar charities and I bet there are plenty of celebrities and we'll off people that would have paid it too.

They can’t film in the chamber though - they would have had to use the bbc livestream bank cameras. So it would only have been a kind of ‘research’ to actually see the room and stand looking at the queue. Which they could have done with a livestream. But perhaps they filmed a segment outside?
my guess is that they went in as ‘press’ because they could - not realising the real story was the queue outside. They didn’t read the mood of the nation or the real story correctly because they (and their producers at ITV) are daytime TV segment makers. Because they are not actual journalists.
They are attracting SO much vitriol as they have betrayed an inflated view of themselves as posh, sleek, journalists that stand where princes stand which is at odds with the ‘ordinary/girl next door’ image. People don’t like being fooled.

The papers had only really got into 2nd gear re; PS and the runner he’d been seeing, when Covid struck and took over the news. Had Covid not have happened, I doubt PS would be on our screens now. I think the shit would well and truly have hit the fan and lots more ‘incidents’ would have come tumbling out of his broom cupboard. I think I’m right in saying the runner was paid off, so we never really heard his story. Agree with the poster above….he’s a ticking time bomb. Watch this space…

I think there’s a lot of very unsavoury things involving P.S and yes, Holly on The one show…bizarre…lots of stories of how scarily mean she is.
But what do you think the secrets they have about others are?
