To be impressed that Holly and Phil queued to see the Queen

I saw on the news today that they both paid their respects. I know MPs got tickets to jump the queue which is fair enough given how busy they are running the country, but obviously run of the mills celebrities don't get that sort of treatment. We haven't seen many celebrities actually pay tribute given they wouldn't want to queue so long, so I was quite touched to see the picture of them walking through. True British gems.

They didn’t queue they went in as journalist to film a thing for This Morning. David Beckham and Susanna Reid queued with the great and the good (and probably slightly stinky)

Oh Jeez I'm glad they didn't queue with the great unwashed - imagine if you'd got stuck having to make small talk with them for 14 hours?!!

I must admit that I am sick of all the interviews with members of the public in the queue. What can they say? Occasionally someone might have an anecdote of having actually met the Queen but I'm fed up of hearing her being exalted for smiling in someone's direction, making an utterly run of the mill comment or raising her eyebrows. And all the painful interviews with overtired children who look bewildered when asked deep questions such as 'what did the Queen mean to you'. It's all getting a bit much. I imagine it's a very moving experience being in the silence of the hall itself and I'm glad people have had the opportunity to do this but it's shit television.

I saw that many people were handing King Charles souvenirs like mugs along with the flowers on his visit to Wales today. I wondered if anyone was brave enough to hand him a pen just he case he needed a spare for signing his declaration?! Did anyone see any footage of the Welsh signing? Did he manage to keep his cool this time?

And the housekeeping and security staff were told “The end of the queue is in Lambeth”. If they had limited the MPs and Lords to one extra pass all the rest of the Westminster staff could have been accommodated with room to spare.

I genuinely don’t get ITV’s love for these two. That whole “coming out” interview was a farce - apparently to save PS from an accusation of an inappropriate workplace relationship with a much younger and more junior member of staff.

Their queue jumping today under the guise of being “press” is ridiculous. As for Holly’s mask it’s typically attention seeking.

@MissyB1 I’ve always been intrigued too by that weird episode of Holly’s car being “stolen” and then turning up a few days later and not being stolen at all. Hmmm…

I've not watched any coverage since Friday so I thought the "live stream" might have been a joke. Reminds me of when Big Brother had live streams which consisted of watching a load of blankets rise and fall for hours while people slept!
