No. Too miserable and my mum just died.

Sorry for your loss @Whoops1. I've not lost a parent so can only imagine what a difficult time this is and how the timing at a similar time to the death of The Queen and all the focus on it might make things even more difficult. I hope you have some RL support to help you through.

DeeCeeCherry · 14/09/2022 03:33

No. i'll be at another funeral which luckily can go ahead as its in the afternoon. Was worried it would be cancelled. I wouldn't watch Queen's funeral if I were at home anyway, Im not interested at all. Although I accept others are. Each to their own, really

Zebedee55 · 14/09/2022 04:42

No, I won't be watching it, as I'm bored with all the saturation coverage anyway. It feels like enforced mourning.

I'm more interested in watching the Emergency Budget on Wednesday, as that affects everyone in a way the Royals don't.🙄

Roselilly36 · 14/09/2022 04:47

I will watch, I have never seen a Monarchs funeral. DS1 will probably watch too. DH & DS2 will have no interest whatsoever and will not be watching.

KeyboardWarriorsUnite · 14/09/2022 04:54

I won't be watching. I wouldn't sit and gawp at any other stranger's funeral for my own entertainment, so I won't be tuning in to this one either. I didn't know her. I'm not mourning her loss. Sitting watching her nearest and dearest while they are mourning seems voyeuristic and unnecessary to me.

BritWifeInUSA · 14/09/2022 04:57

Definitely will be watching. Even though it’s on at 3 am here on the west coast of the USA and I don’t have a bank holiday for it.

Desiredeffect · 14/09/2022 05:06

No I have to work.

Mumspair1 · 14/09/2022 05:08

I'm not originally from here, so this has no bearing on me at all. However my dc want to watch it as they are more a part of the culture and have learnt alot about the history. So we will have it on in the background.

ThickCutSteakChips · 13/09/2022 20:14

Whether you are into the monarchy or not, it's proper history in the making, she is the longest ever reigning monarch and they will literally be talking about this in hundreds of years. Of course I will be watching.

And you will be here in a hundred years from now to say that you watched it on TV and part of the history? Lol

Blueberrywitch · 14/09/2022 05:17

I won’t watch it but my DP will probably have it on so I’m sure I’ll see. I was quite sad last week but the wall to wall sycophantic coverage of the “royal family” in the UK since her death has honestly made me into a seething republican and I don’t want to give them any more of my attention.

FlibbertyGibbitt · 14/09/2022 05:20

I’m going to have some cucumber sarnies, no crusts, cake and raise a glass to her. I’m not keen on the RF but liked her immensely. I’ve shed a few tears, presumably with feelings from my own losses.

RIP Queen Elizabeth

sashh · 14/09/2022 05:23

I'm booked in to the local pub carvery.

TheEggChair · 14/09/2022 05:30

Same as @FlibbertyGibbitt I've got a load of eggs that need to be used up so we're baking this weekend. So scones, cake and a cuppa in honour of her Majesty.

I'm a republican but I liked the Queen and I think Princess Anne is fab. I don't have any time for the other members of the RF.
It's a live history lesson, the likes we'll never see again.

embolass · 14/09/2022 05:54

NO, will be working . Trying to look after her subjects with minimal staff on a ward full of her peers. They can only dream of the care and attention she received in her final months. How is that acceptable or fair?

User642986540 · 14/09/2022 06:00

I'm thinking I will probably record it on the Skybox and then I can whip through it in the evening, the bits I want to see rather than endure the extra bits like endless interviews that there inevitably will be. Unfortunately I have the decorating to do rather than lolling in front of the TV all day.

FindingMeno · 14/09/2022 06:18

No.

RaptureGal · 14/09/2022 06:20

Rising before dawn here in California, USA, to watch the proceedings with about 100 million other Americans. There will never be another person like Queen Elizabeth ll. She was a very great lady.

Will watch some of it then will care for family relative and go for a lovely long walk (weather pending) will also have a lie in.

CatchYouOnTheFlippetyFlop · 14/09/2022 06:25

Couldn't think of anything worse. I couldn't give two hoots about the fucked up family and I certainly won't be watching.

There will be no TV or radio on that day in our house. Work have given us the bank holiday, but if I had the choice I'd be in the office.

I'll probably work from home.

MrsDThomas · 14/09/2022 06:35

i have some decorating to do, so I’ll do that. extra day off is valuable to get the property ready. Then in the afternoon i can watch the news snd catch up.

TenoringBehind · 14/09/2022 07:08

Yes. Wouldn’t miss it for the world.

I’m ringing bells immediately beforehand so debating whether to watch live and then catch up on the preamble afterwards or just to watch with a 20 minute delay.

flophop · 14/09/2022 07:29

No. I appreciate that it is a historic moment but that doesn't make watching someone else's funeral any less boring. And I know they'll repeat the interesting parts over and over on the news etc.

I'm taking my kids to the park.

Sceptre86 · 14/09/2022 07:41

My children are off as it is September weekend where we are. I also start work the next day after finishing up my maternity leave. I will dip in and out of watching it.

wottabargain · 14/09/2022 07:48

GiantTortoise · 13/09/2022 20:07

I'm not that bothered by the royal family and I won't watch all the extra coverage before and after, but I will watch the funeral itself. I'll probably make my DC watch too. It's a historic event.

Exactly the same. (Apart from the kids bit, mine are adults and will probably be working)

PerfectlyPreservedQuagaarWarrior · 14/09/2022 08:12

Nah, the sycophancy will be altogether too much. I expect I'll see bits on news websites, social media afterwards, but the dose shouldn't be high enough to be nauseating there.
