Or will you be doing something else? Perhaps working or just not watch the funeral?

No. Won't be watching. We are driving home from a weekend away.

ThickCutSteakChips · 13/09/2022 21:53

Campingandwine · 13/09/2022 21:39

I don’t like the idea of watching a funeral on TV so no

It's hardly the same as watching some strangers funeral being streamed on a webcam though is it?

It's a huge historical event.

PeanutAnarchy · 13/09/2022 21:57

This is the anniversary of the very unexpected and sudden death of a close family member for me (not royalty!)
I will be glued to the television - and not all of my tears will be for the Queen.

FourChimneys · 13/09/2022 22:04

No, off to climb a large hill then go paddle boarding on the nearby lake. Then back to see some clients who don't want to cancel.

No telly anyway and I'm not buying one especially.

Might see a bit on YouTube over the next few months if I think of it.

bellinisurge · 13/09/2022 22:05

It'll be on. I'll dip in and out. I'm glad of the day off to chill out.

Sparklingbrook · 13/09/2022 22:06

I think I've watched enough already. I'm sure there will be 'highlights' for days afterwards and it'll all be on YouTube forever.
I'll be doing anything else.

Sockwomble · 13/09/2022 22:14

We will be looking after ds so will be doing what we usually do with him. He won't be interested in watching it.

KohinoorDiamond · 13/09/2022 22:16

History in the making. Will certainly watch if I can.

We won’t have a Queen in our lifetimes again.

Big deal historically.

neighboursmustliveon · 13/09/2022 22:18

Of course I will be watching. This is our history. We are being given a day off for this. It's not a jolly day off imo and I won't be treating it as such.

EndTheMonacyNow · 13/09/2022 22:19

No and I won't watch any highlights of it either.

TheYearOfSmallThings · 13/09/2022 22:21

I will watch a bit, but if it goes on and on I won't stay with it.

arthurfowlermood · 13/09/2022 22:28

No interest whatsoever, cannot think of anything more boring than commentators rabbiting on for hours about pomp and ceremony and who’s there and who is not there and then the wringing of hands from the grieving masses. The whole showiness of it makes me nauseous. I will watch a good serial killer show instead and put my feet up. Bliss.

1994girl · 13/09/2022 22:31

No. Have 0 interest.

FunsizedandFabulous · 13/09/2022 22:31

I'm working but I'll put Sky News on in the background. Also not hugely interested, but I like to see history in the making.

AclowncalledAlice · 13/09/2022 23:00

No. Couldn't be less interested in it if I tried.

freckles20 · 14/09/2022 01:09

No.

I'll be working for any clients who choose not to cancel (about 50% so far)- I'm not letting anyone down and rescheduling would be difficult. Then having a long walk and an open water swim with some friends.

I can't see why the actual funeral is 'history'. The history element of this for me is that The Queen died last week at a grand age after a mostly celebrated long reign, her son is now The King. That is the history bit and I don't need to hear the media wittering on for hours or watch the actual funeral.

That’s exactly what it is. A strangers funeral being displayed. It’s gross on many levels.

no. I’d rather peel off my toenails.

nalabae · 14/09/2022 01:37

If there is nothing else

Furries · 14/09/2022 01:49

CapMarvel · 13/09/2022 20:26

Not a chance. Sooner this nonsense is over the better. The whole country has gone mad with grief tourism.

The whole “grief tourism/grief vampires/performative grief” jibes are getting boring. Just fyi, they don’t make you sound cool and edgy.

MOST people who are interested are observing an historical moment in our history - there’s nothing wrong with that.

The one issue I have is with people and their bloody phones - really disrespectful.

I will be watching. I’ll also maybe observe the “no pointy food” rule - which possibly justifies a breakfast bun from the Golden Arches 😂

Ineedwinenow · 14/09/2022 01:49

I’ll be watching! I love the fact we have a Royal family and all the pomp and tradition that goes with it! Also knowing that Liz loved a tipple I’ll be raising a glass (or 2) in her honor

user1477391263 · 14/09/2022 01:54

Overseas Brit here. It will be evening our time, but yes we'll all be watching; it's a historical event that connects you with your country's past and present.

No doubt most of the members of our local British mums' Facebook group will, like me, be watching with split screens (televised funeral on one side, Facebook group discussion thread open on the other side) so that we can chat and share our comments and thoughts as the funeral goes on!

I didn't realise watching it is a thing

MN is a weird place at the moment

MooseBeTimeForSnow · 14/09/2022 02:07

I’m seven hours behind in this bit of Canada, so it’s a really early start.

Or a very late night.

NovaDeltas · 14/09/2022 02:31

Not one second. Blech.

Whoops1 · 14/09/2022 02:56

No. Too miserable and my mum just died.
